A Little Mountain Air

Today’s 3″ x 3″ card is a sweet project I shared with my club. There’s a lot of simple beauty in this card – and a whole lot of “awww” from the sentiments. The Mountain Air stamp set gave me a sweet scene – and the mountains were beautiful in Highland Heater. Here’s my card:

  • Sweet sentiments. As if “I miss you a lot” (from Seriously the Best) on the outside isn’t sweet enough, I added “Today you get it in writing” (from Thanks for the Laughs) on the inside. It’s almost like the two were meant to be. I didn’t get a picture of the inside, but now you know it’s there. Here’s a look at the incredible sentiments in Seriously the Best:Seriously the Best, Stampin' Up! 151712And here are the silly (and sometimes sweet) sentiments in Thanks for the Laughs: Thanks for the Laughs, Stampin' Up! 151670
  • Mountain Air.  The Mountain Air bundle is so beautiful! The photopolymer stamps are reversible – you can get a detailed image from one side of the stamp and a watercolor-like shape from the other. When layered together, they are quite magical.  To create the beautiful depth for the mountains on my small card front, I inkedthe back of the photopolymer stamp with Highland Heather, stamped it off once on scrap paper and the stamped it on this Whisper White square. I inked the other side of the stamp with Highland heather and stamped just below the other image, staggering the shapes slightly. • Color Combination.  The purple mountains are majestic in Highland Heather, don’t you think?  The pop of Crushed Curry from the moon adds a magical glow, as well.
