Yesterday’s project was a tribute to Spring – the flowers and the bright colors just scream “Spring!” Today’s card whispers, “spring” with a mix of bright and warm colors. This is the first time I inked up the My Meadow stamp set, which was the first product I received from Stampin’ Up!’s January – June 2020 Mini Catalog. Here’s my card for the FabFriday sketch challenge that kicks off today:
And here’s the banner for the sketch challenge that inspired my card:
Tips, Tricks and Reminders
- My Meadow. Like several watercolor scene-builder sets before it (Waterfront and Snow Front), My Meadow gives us all the elements we need to build a beautiful scene. The set features a beautiful bridge, a gazebo and all the water/grass you need. There’s even a wheelbarrow in this set that I’m certain I’ll be showcasing soon. Love it! Here’s a look at the My Meadow stamp set:
I used Granny Apple Green, Balmy Blue and Soft Suede to build my abstract scene. I added a little Pool Party and Smoky Slate in the sky, too. This was going to be my “trial run” for this card front, but I decided to leave it alone – so your are seeing my first take with this set. Here’s a closer look:
- A Sweet Sentiment. The sentiment at the base of my scene is one I’ve used a lot because I think it’s a wonderful way to say thank you for a kind act. “Your thoughtfulness brightened my day.” Is there anything quite as wonderful as bringing joy or a smile to someone else? The sentiment, surprisingly, is from the Daisy Delight stamp set. See for yourself:
- A Natural Trio. There’s something so “in nature” about blue, green and brown. – the sky, the grass, the trees. I almost went with softer colors for this card but am glad I reached for the super-bright Granny Apple Green. If you like this mix of Balmy Blue, Granny Apple Green and Soft Suede as much as I do, please save this:
Stamp Sets: My Meadow, Daisy Delight Papers: Pressed Petals Specialty Designer Series Paper, Crumb Cake, Soft Suede, Whisper White Inks: Granny Apple Green, Balmy Blue, Soft Suede, Pool Party, Smoky Slate Accessories: Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals, Stampin’ Dimensionals
I hope you’ll pop over to the FabFriday site to see the cards by the design team members and to play along with this week’s challenge.
Thanks for stopping by today!

Thank you so much, Sharon! I really had fun playing with this set. Glad you like it.
The perfect peaceful scene. Love the placement of the sentiment.
Thanks, Mary! ♥
So calming, yet so full of spring to come! This card is so pretty!
🙂 Thank you so much. I had lots of fun making this little scene.
Love the woodgrain background mat; it makes the card feel “organic” if you know what I mean. Beautiful choice of design for the sketch interpretation. ❤️
Thank you so much. I was going for that but wasn’t sure this was the right choice until I saw it behind the scene. Thanks, Linda!
This is beautiful……the wood grain background is perfect! Perfectly done in every way!
Thanks so much, my friend! I worried the woodgrain would contrast too much with the bright scene, but I was pleasantly surprised. Thanks! ♥
Thank you, Linda! I appreciate that so much. ♥
I love this beautiful card, Brian. Had you not told us it was your first try making a serene scene, no one would have guessed. It looks very professional. Great job. Enjoy your Friday!
Thanks, Hilda! I guess my professionalism just shines through on any project. :)~ Thanks! Hope your day is wonderful! ♥
What a perfect scene with a perfect sentiment! Love how this works with the sketch!
Thanks so much, Windy! The sketch gave me a perfect opportunity to ink up this set. Glad you like it! ♥

Awww…thanks, Kadie! Your sweet comment makes my heart smile. ♥
Such a calming scene amidst all the coronavirus news. Thanks Brian!
🙂 Thank you so much, Dawn! Be safe!
How the heck did I overlook this stamp set? I love scenic sets and this one will have to go on my next order list. A gorgeous card and a reminder of my nephews wedding that took place in a gazebo next to a brook. Your beautiful card brought back a beautiful memory. Love it.
Aww, I love that the scene I created was so referential to your nephew’s wedding. It’s a great set, Grace, and I know you’ll love it.
Brian, this is absolutely the prettiest! I haven’t inked this set up yet, so I’m really happy to see yours. Scene cards are my favorite to do, so I’d better get going. Thanks for the beautiful inspiration! 🙂
Thank you so much, Bobbi! Once you ink it up, you’ll love it. It’s hard to see how to use it – until you use it. ♥
Brian, I, too, found your beautiful card so very serene!
Thank you ? for sharing your “eye” and your talent!
Thank you so much, Suzie! It was a fun scene to make. ♥
I love the calming effect of this card, Brian, the soft colors on the images contrast beautifully with the wood background.
Thank you for sharing.

Thank you so much, Maria! It’s the opposite side of Spring from the vibrant card I shared on Thursday. 🙂 So happy you like it. ♥
