Three Cheers for You

Even as we isolate in our homes, there are plenty of things to celebrate and be happy about. Your friends and family still want to hear from you, and a card can be a special way to reach out. Today’s project is a birthday card for a friend with an April birthday – it’s amazing how much a handmade card can mean to someone, but it’s especially special in 2020. Here’s my card:

  • Three Cheers for You. The sentiment on my card is found in the Three Cheers All-Inclusive Card Kit. The kits debuted in the January – June 2020 Mini Catalog and contains everything you need (except the adhesive) to make 12 gorgeous cards. The kit comes with a box to store your cards in AND a stamp set that can be used over and over on projects like the one I shared today. • Festive Balloons. The sentiment isn’t the only stamping on my card. I stamped each of the balloons with the watercolored balloon in the Above the Clouds stamp set. LOVE that set! Here’s a look at the Above the Clouds Bundle:Above the Clouds Bundle, Stampin' Up! 151135BUT…surprise…I didn’t crop the stamped hot air balloon with the Balloon Builder Punch. I punched the watercolored image with the Balloon Bouquet Punch. There are no stamp sets in the current catalogs that pair with the Balloon Bouquet Punch, so I improvised to make a beautiful bouquet of balloons for my card. • Color Combination. The colors on my card are pulled right from this argyle pattern from the Country Club Designer Series Paper. Night of Navy, Crushed Curry and Garden Green are expected colors in a pack of papers designed around a country club theme, but it’s the addition of Poppy Parade that really makes this paper special. 1. Brian, I love the bright, cheery colors and DSP of today’s card. It will certainly brighten someone’s birthday. How clever of you to stamp with one stamp and punch with the balloon punch. That made me smile!! We have finished our third week of sheltering in place with six more to go. A friend sent me a handmade card this week and it was so appreciated. Be well. Enjoy your day!
