You’re a Classic with Country Club

I don’t play golf, but I know how important golf is to so many people. Those who love it really, really love it. Those who are bored by it just stay away. While there are lots of patterns in the Country Club Designer Series Paper pack that can be used to make cards for people who don’t love golf (many argyle and plaid patterns), today’s card is designed precisely for someone the man in your life who loves golf. Here’s my card:

  • You’re a Classic. Geared Up Garage is a stamp set with lots of Dad references. A car, oil, tools and washers. The sentiment I used – “You’re a Classic” – refers to an old car in the context of the stamp set, but I gave it a different spin on my card. Did you catch it? “Classic” is also a noun for sports tournaments (like golf and tennis), so my card has two meanings, too. What fun! Here’s a look at the Geared Up Garage stamp set:Geared Up Garage, Stampin Up! 148590The second sentiment on my card comes from Itty Bitty Greetings, one of the most versatile, all-season stamp sets in the catalog. Halloween, Easter, weddings, Father’s Day, Mother’s Day – they are all covered here. Itty Bitty Greetings, Stampin Up! 151331
  • Two Blue. My card features two blue panels from the Country Club Designer Series Paper. I don’t think that cards for men NEED to be all-blue or all-brown, but I thought it looked quite stylish here. There’s a little green in the background, too, so… Here’s a look at the colors and patterns in the Country Club Designer Series Paper:Country Club Designer Series Paper, Stampin Up! 151314
  • Layered Sentiment. I stamped “You’re a Classic” with Night of Navy ink on Thick Whisper White and then cropped it with one of the long dies from the Stitched Rectangles Dies. I stamped “World’s Best Father” with Whisper White craft ink, powdered it with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heated with my Heat Tool.Geared Up Garage, Itty Bitty Greetings, Country Club Designer Series Paper, Stampin Up!, Brian KingI allowed my Thick Whisper White Stitched Rectangle to hang off the edge of my Night of Navy panel just a bit. I then centered that entire piece over the background panel (instead of centering the Night of Navy panel over the background panel).
