“Let’s stay up late and craft.” I have never been much of a night owl, so these are not words that would normally spill from my lips. In this new, shelter-in-place world, though, I find that my hours are shifting a little bit. Since I don’t have to get out early to beat the morning traffic, I can stay up late to watch “my shows” or create projects to share with you. I wanted to give It Starts with Art one last spin before it retires on June 2, and (for the first time since I’ve owned this stamp set) staying up late to craft actually sounds fun. Here’s my card:

Tips, Tricks and Reminders
- It Starts with Art. There’s an entire suite of products in Stampin’ Up!’s 2019 Annual Catalog that celebrates our love of stamping and crafting. With pens, paper clips and binder clips, there are even elements that celebrate our love of office supplies. 🙂 I showcase the It Starts with Art Bundle and the Follow Your Art Designer Series Paper on today’s fun card. I don’t use retired papers a lot, but I have a small stock of this paper for future use. Here’s a look at the colors and patterns in the Follow Your Art Designer Series Paper. 
You’ve gotta love that paper, right? - At a Diagonal. I love to play with Designer Series Papers. While this panel of brushes, pens, rollers and spatulas is designed with the images straight up and down on the page, I cut into the paper a bit to create a pattern where these tools are angled on the page. Not only does the diagonal add a little motion to the design, but it allowed me to balance the images on the page (no row of tools was fully cut in half). To keep with my diagonal pattern, I also added my sentiment to a strip of Calypso Coral that was placed at a diagonal on the card front:
The Calypso Coral frame around my sentiment is cropped with the Stitched Labels Dies, also only available until June 2 (or when supplies run out) – and they are on sale right now! - An Ocean-Themed Color Combination. I pulled all three of the colors on my card from the Follow Your Art Designer Series Paper. As I created the color inspiration graphic for today’s post, it occurred to me that all three of these colors are ocean-themed. How fun! If you love this combination of Calypso Coral, Coastal Cabana and Pacific Point as much as I do, please save this for future reference:

great idea to put the DSP on a diagonal for interest. the vellum is the perfect touch behind the sentiment.
I appreciated seeing your idea of cutting into the paper a bit to create a pattern where the tools are angled on the page. And I am always looking for ideas on how to use vellum paper (plus the DSP peaks through).
