Gorgeous Rainbows with Stampin’ Up! Colors

Spring and Summer are a perfect time to create projects with all of the colors of the rainbow – with the mix of rain and sunshine we’ve been experiencing, there’s a great likelihood we’ll catch a rainbow every once in a while. With the symbolism of hope and serenity we associate with rainbows, they are more important today than ever before. ♥

There are so many ways to combine Stampin’ Up! colors to recreate the colors of the rainbow. Using the ROYGBIV acronym from our middle school Earth science class (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet), I created four suggestions for building a rainbow with current Stampin’ Up! colors. I’m also sharing some rainbow-themed projects I hope you love.

Rainbow Color Combinations

Bright & Bold. If you are looking for a bright and cheery rainbow, here’s a good combination of colors (most of these colors are pulled from the Brights collection of colors) I shared over the weekend:

A Bright and Bold Rainbow, Stampin Up!, Brian KingSoft & Subtle. If you want a softer rainbow (maybe you want to create a baby card or a thinking of you card), you’ll want to reach for the some of these colors (mostly from the Subtles collection of colors):

A Soft and Subtle Rainbow, Stampin Up!, Brian KingRich & Regal. And maybe you want a sophisticated rainbow with rich, Fall-like colors (most of these shades are pulled from the Regals collection of colors):

A Mix of Color Families. Just for fun, I pulled colors from all of the color families to make this collection of rainbow colors that’s perfect for almost any project:

Rainbow Cards

While I’m sharing color suggestions for rainbow cards, I thought it would be fun to look back at some projects I’ve shared with rainbows. You can click on any of these projects to see the colors I used or to read more about each project:

  13. Thanks, Brian! I’ve been using your previous ‘rainbow’ for a while and wondered how you’d handle the retirement of Lovely Lipstick. I appreciate all the inspiration you’ve provided by giving us the ‘regular’ (mixed) rainbow, plus all the ‘color family’ rainbows – genius!!
