Warm Wishes for CTS381

When I designed the layout for the sketch that’s being featured at CAS(E) This Sketch this week, I had no idea what time of year it would be or what products I would use to execute my card. It’s always fun when the challenges arrive so I can make the sketch come to life with current products. Here’s my monochromatic Christmas card:

CTS381Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Toile Tidings. Toile Tidings is one of three Designer Series Papers that are featured in this year’s August – December 2020 Mini Catalog as “returning favorites” – and each of them was certainly a favorite from last year. The three returning papers are: Toile Tidings Designer Series Paper, Brightly Gleaming Specialty Designer Series Paper and Feels Like Frost 6″ x 6″ Specialty Designer Series Paper. My card features two of the Real Red and Very Vanilla Designs from Toile Tidings – it was so fun to pull this paper out and play with it again. • Best Year & Tasteful Labels. The sentiment on my card is from the 2020 Annual Catalog and is cropped with a die from the same book, so you can get those today! ♥ Here’s a closer look: Best Year, Toile Tidings Designer Series Paper, Stampin Up!, Brian KingThe sentiment is from Best Year, a new stamp set with a wonderful variety of sentiments that can be used throughout the year. Here’s a look: Best Year, Stampin Up! 152568How wonderful are those sentiments?! Speaking of wonderful, it looks like “Warm Wishes for a Happy Christmas” was meant to be cropped inside the Tasteful Labels Dies (one of my favorites from the new catalog). • Measurements. I created a differently-sized card for today’s project – the base is as tall as a standard card, but it’s a bit narrow. Here are the measurements for all of the layers on my simple, layered card (starting with the base of the card and working up to the sentiment):
    • Real Red – 3-3/4″ x 11″ (scored at 5-1/2″)
    • Very Vanilla – 3-1/8″ x 4-7/8″
    • Toile Tidings Designer Series Paper – 3″ x 4-3/4″
    • Very Vanilla – 2-1/8″ x 3-7/8″
    • Toile Tidings Designer Series Paper – 2″ x 3-3/4″
    • Real Red – 1/8″ x 3-3/4″ and 1/4″ x 3-3/4″
    • Stampin’ Dimensionals
    • Thick Very Vanilla – cropped with Tasteful Labels Dies

Stamp Sets: Best Year  Papers: Toile Tidings, Real Red, Very Vanilla, Thick Very Vanilla  Inks: Real Red Accessories: Tasteful Labels Dies, Stampin’ Dimensionals

I hope you’ll pop over to the CAS(E) This Sketch site to see the cards by the design team members and to play along with this week’s challenge. I would love for you to play along with my sketch – can’t wait to see what you make! ♥

Thanks for stopping by today!
