Thanks a Ton with the Whale Done Bundle

I’ve been sharing a lot of many-layered cards over the past week. I decided today’s card should stay super-simple and super-cute. The Whale Done Bundle and Whale of a Time 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper helped me to make the card I wanted to make. This week’s CAS(E) This Sketch also helped. Here’s my card:

Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Whale Done Bundle. My card features a sentiment from the Whale Done stamp set and a whale that’s punched with the Whale Builder Punch (thought the whale was not stamped with this stamp set). I do love a photopolymer/punch bundle – and this is a really, really good one. ♥ Here’s a look at the Whale Done Bundle, which really should be added to your wish list if you don’t already have it: Whale Done Bundle, Stampin Up! 154053Here are two projects I’ve already made with this bundle (similar to today’s card, these are both clean-and-simple projects (you can click on either project to see my original post for each): Whale Done Bundle, Whale Builder Punch, Stampin Up!, Brian King Whale Done Bundle, Stampin Up!, Brian King
  • Whale of a Time. The samples above show a whale that’s punched from cardstock and a whale that I stamped and then punched with the Whale Builder Punch. Today’s project showcases a whale that is punched from the Whale of a Time 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper.  Here’s a look at the colors and patterns in this wonderful pack of papers:Whale of a Time Designer Series Paper, Stampin Up! 152460Here are the two pages featured on my card – the whale was punched from this page: Whale of a Time Designer Series Paper, Stampin Up!Here’s a closer look at my punched whale: Whale Done Bundle, Stampin Up!, Brian King, thank you cardHere’s the background of aqua waves I cropped from this page: Whale of a Time Designer Series Paper, Stampin Up!
  • Color Combination. Both of the cards I’ve already created with the Whale Builder Punch include Pretty Peacock and some combination of greens or aquas. For today’s card, I punched a Basic Gray whale from the papers and surrounded him with Pretty Peacock, Bermuda Bay and Just Jade waves – they are gorgeous, aren’t they? If you like the mix of Just Jade, Pretty Peacock and Basic Gray, please save this for future reference:Stampin' Up! Color Inspiration - Just Jade, Pretty Peacock, Basic Gray

Bundles: Whale Done  Stamp Sets: Whale Done  Papers: Whale of a Time 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper, Basic Gray, Thick Whisper White  Inks: Pretty Peacock  Accessories: Whale Builder Punch, Stitched Rectangles Dies, Stampin’ Dimensionals

I hope you’ll pop over to the CAS(E) This Sketch site to see the cards by the design team members and to play along with this week’s challenge.

I love this suite! I started working on my first card using it last night.
Your examples are adorable, Brian! Every time I look at that whale, I think of our great time at the Georgia Aquarium ??? It really is a great bundle … that DSP … wow! Thank you for the added ideas?

    • Thanks, Suzie! Did you know I volunteered at the GA Aquarium for several years after it opened? I trained in all of the exhibits and worked in the commissary (for the exhibits, not the visitors)? I haven’t been in a while, but I was there A LOT when if first opened. 🙂

  8. This post was whale worth checking out! Love this card and every opportunity to slip in a pun. ?
