Singing Loud for All to Hear

The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear. It’s true! Not only do I love this line from Elf, my favorite Christmas movie, but I believe it to be true. Who doesn’t respond to the joy when someone sings a Christmas favorite? Today’s card features this fun sentiment with this week’s Freshly Made Sketches layout. Here’s my card:

  • Christmas Means More. I love big, bold sentiments, but my heart beats faster for sentiments from popular Christmas movies. That’s what we get with Christmas Means More stamp set. Here’s a look:Christmas Means More, Stampin Up!, 154730Are you able to name the movie from which each of the quotes is derived? I’m going to help you out:
    • “I believe. It’s silly, but I believe” is from Miracle on 34th Street.
    • “Maybe Christmas means a little bit more” is from The Grinch.
    • “Every time a bell rings an angel gets its wings” is from It’s a Wonderful Life.
    • “The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear” is from my all-time favorite Christmas movie, Elf.
  • Cattywampus Layers. As all of the components of my card were ready to be glued down, the layers behind my sentiment were perfectly aligned behind the sentiment. I tossed the card pieces on my desk and walked across the room to grab my glue. When I saw the cattywampus layers behind my sentiment (so festive and fun), I knew I needed to rethink how I presented this element on the card. The sentiment is fun, so the layers behind it should be fun, too. I cropped larger squares and framed the sentiment with askew layers. • Heartwarming Colors. The patterned panels of cardstock on my card are both from the  Heartwarming Hugs Designer Series Paper, certain to be your favorite pack of papers from Stampin’ Up!’s August – December 2020 Mini Catalog. The tiny patterns are incredible (and many of them can be used during other times of the year).
