More Color Combinations with Magic in This Night Designer Series Paper

I love to collect and use Stampin’ Up!’s Designer Series Papers. What a great way to find inspiration for our projects! The colors and patterns pair perfectly with other products we love. Since the gorgeous Magic in This Night Designer Series Paper debuted in Stampin’ Up!’s August – December 2020 Mini Catalog, I have shared several projects that showcase different pages in this pack of papers. The pages and colors in the pack of papers are perfect for your Halloween projects – and many can be used during other times of the year! I’m excited to share a bit more about this pack of papers today.

I often pull my colors right from the Designer Series Papers as a starter. That’s a huge benefit of our Designer Series Papers – they are designed with the amazing shades in our color families, so the pair perfectly with our cardstock, inks and accessories. Here’s a look at the patterns and colors in the Magic in This Night Designer Series Paper:

Magic in this Night Designer Series Paper, Stampin Up!, 153517There are a lot of spooky prints in this pack of paper (bats, spiders and spiderwebs abound), but there are also some elegant pages that are versatile to be used for almost any occasion. The pack includes Basic Black, Blackberry Bliss, Cajun Craze, Pretty Peacock and Whisper White.

I’ve used the Magic in This Night Designer Series Paper several times in the short time it’s been available to us – it would be impossible NOT to use it! Here are some of my projects with the pages from this pack of papers (you can click on each photo to read the original post about each project):

Hallows Night Magic Bundle, Stampin Up!, Brian King Banner Year, Halloween Magic Dies, Stampin Up!, Brian King Little Treats Bundle, Stampin Up!, Brian King Massive Thanks, Gather Together, Stampin Up!, Brian King Peaceful Moments, Stampin Up!, Brian King, sympathy cardIt’s easy to incorporate these pages into your projects because there are so many gorgeous pages in this pack of papers. They can be really fun to work with – especially when you add other colors to the colors found in the paper.  Today I’m going to share a couple more suggestions for pulling these colors right from the patterns in the Magic in This Night Designer Series Paper.

Straight from the Papers

These colors are combined from the colors exclusively in this pack of the Magic in This Night Designer Series Paper (this is a bit of a challenge since there are only four colors in the pack of papers):

Stampin' Up! Color Inspiration - Cajun Craze, Pretty Peacock, Blackberry Bliss Stampin Up! Color Inspiration - Whisper White, Blackberry Bliss, Basic Black Stampin Up! Color Inspiration - Cajun Craze, Pretty Peacock, Basic Black

Combined with Other Colors

By adding one other color to the shades in these papers, you can really transform the feel of the pages – or create all new combinations with inspiration from the paper. Here are some color combinations starters that feature two colors from this pack of papers and one color from outside the pack:

Stampin Up! Color Inspiration - Petal Pink, Pretty Peacock, Basic Black Stampin' Up! Color Inspiration - Basic Gray, Cajun Craze, Basic Black Stampin' Up! Color Inspiration - Terracotta Tile, Cajun Craze, Pretty Peacock

By limiting the colors you’ll use in a project (or expanding the colors to those outside a pack of papers), you can really find some beautiful color combinations for our projects.

I hope you find this helpful, I and I hope some of these combinations inspire you.  Please save any (or all of these) to Pinterest for future reference. To follow me on Pinterest, please click here: follow me on Pinterest.

  1. fabulous display of the possibilities for this paper!

  2. I love your color combinations and the parade of your beautiful cards made with this DSP pack. Have a wonderful day!

  3. Love it! Great color combos for some Halloween fun with a twist!

  4. What awesome color combinations you created for this fun Halloween DSP. Thanks for sharing.

  5. Thanks for the color combos. Funny story, when I ordered on the 1st, I planned to get another pack of Snowflake Splendor paper since on sale. I put my order in and guess I only looked at the amount when entered the item number so when my order came I had the Magic DSP instead. The chart for the sale has it one number off and listed right above so I grabbed the wrong item number. I do not make Halloween cards but will now need to make some cards with this pack of paper…love the roses in black and white. Thanks for the inspiration!

  6. My favorite is the cute spider web paper that you used for the cute little treat container ! It is bright and festive( even though you put that creepy spider on it !) Giggle !
