Is there anything more wonderful to wish for a friend or family member than a day of love and joy? It’s something we all need right now – a day where we can just be happy and find peace. That might be a special day (like a wedding), but you really don’t need a special occasion to offer love to a friend. Here’s a quick-and-easy card I made with the Woven Heirloom stamp set and Feels Like Frost 6″ x 6″ Specialty Designer Series Paper:
Tips, Tricks and Reminders
- Sweet, Framed Sentiment. I don’t usually reach for stamp sets with a vintage feel to them, but there’s something really special about the sentiments in the Woven Heirlooms stamp set. Here’s a look at the great collection of sentiments and vintage images in the Woven Heirlooms Cling stamp set:
I stamped the sentiment with Gray Granite ink on Thick Whisper White cardstock and cropped it with a label die from my favorite set of dies – the Tasteful Labels Dies. I used the die in the bottom, left corner of the dies shown below. It has a beveled edge all the way around the outside of the die, which makes it really special. Here’s a look at these must-have dies:
- Feels Like Frost. I love papers with photographic images – especially when those papers feature Stampin’ Up! colors. Feels Like Frost Specialty 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper was featured in last year’s Holiday Catalog. It was such a beloved favorite that Stampin’ Up! brought it back again this year. Here’s a look at the gorgeous colors and patterns in the Feels Like Frost Specialty 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Papers:
Before I glued the gorgeous page to the Highland Heather cardstock frame, I texture-embossed the page with my Tasteful Textile 3-D Embossing Folder. It gave the paper a very artistic touch. Here’s a look at this embossing folder:
And here’s a closer look at the texture it created:
- Color Combination. While there is not a green color noted in the color palette from the Feels Like Frost Specialty 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper, there’s definitely a hue of Soft Sea Foam in the page from the papers I used on today’s card. If you like this soft mix of Soft Sea Foam, Highland Heather and Gray Granite as much as I do, I hope you’ll save this for future reference:

Such a lovely, calming card. Interesting (perfect) choice of the Feels Like Frost DSP paired with the beautiful sentiment. I haven’t used this stamp set nearly enough. Thanks for the creative nudge!
Such a beautiful card,
perfect sentiment and font for this designer series paper! amazing how you layered the pattern with texture!
Thank you so much, Mary! The texture added something special that I really loved. ♥
I like your Soft Seafoam addition and the Tasteful Texture also.
I have this pretty paper so now I need to get that Embossing Folder !
Pretty card !
Thanks, Sonny! That soft green is just in the paper – I didn’t have to add anything. The embossing folder is quite wonderful. ♥
Love the color combination. Beautiful card!
Thank you so much, my friend! ♥♥♥
I love this sweet card, Brian, with the beautiful DSP and color combo. How clever to emboss the DSP. Enjoy your day!

Beautiful card and you made it even better with the texturing of the DSP.
Thank you so much, Windy! These papers are already so beautiful, but the additional texture adds something special. Glad you like it! ♥
Beautiful card my friend. I love your color combination.
Thank you so much, Kadie! I don’t use purples a lot, but I’m happy when I do. 🙂
Very lovely card. I love the Feels Like Frost papers. They feel so serene. Great idea using the embossing folder on DSP. Thanks for the idea.

Thank you so much, Tonya! The paper is gorgeous – even better when additional texture is added. 🙂
Brian I was delighted when the Feels Like Frost DSP carried over. I have not seen a card made with this paper that I didn’t like! Your card is paired perfectly with the Woven Heirlooms set, beautiful choice.
Thank you so much, Katrina! I thought the sentiment was lovely with these happy flowers, too. So glad you like it! ♥
Awwwww, what a beautiful card my friend, and YOU also have a blessed and beautiful day ♥️♥️
Hugs Frenchie ♥️
Thank you so much, my friend – I’ll certainly do that (especially since you asked). Hope your day is wonderful! ♥
I love your idea of embossing designer paper. The card is beautiful and so soft.
Now Brian – I have gone through the catalogs a gazillion times and still
overlooked both the Woven Heirlooms stamp set AND the Tasteful Labels Die set. I mean really – what the heck is wrong with me? LOL I’m so glad
you bring these things to my attention. Also, I just love the color combination in today’s beautiful card.
Brian, This card is absolutely beautiful! You have outdone yourself.
As always you have a great design with great colors. There are a few of the Feels like Frost papers that I thought needed something. What I wasn’t sure. I Love the idea of embossing them! Also I’ve been debating the Tasteful Lables Dies, this card has convinced me I ‘need’ it. 🙂
Thanks for the inspiration.
