Happy Heart Day with Arrange a Wreath

It’s December 1, so NATURALLY I’ve turned my attention to Valentine’s Day. Just kidding – I’m still in the Christmas mood (especially since it dipped into the 20’s last night with a little touch of snow, too!). Still, I have made a sweet-and-simple “Happy Heart Day” card – think of it as my love note to Christmas. Maybe? Just maybe? Here’s my card:

Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Arrange a Wreath. The Arrange a Wreath Bundle covers a variety of holidays and celebrations – Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter and Valentine’s Day. With “best wishes,” the set also covers weddings and new life ventures. Here’s a look at this versatile and fun bundle…please call it a “fun-dle”:Arrange a Wreath Bundle, Stampin Up! 154109Such great sentiments and images. I want to point out that the pear, hearts and eggs are created as pairs of stamps that coordinate with one die that cuts out both. That made cutting out my hearts so easy – I stamped the double-heart stamp twice with Melon Mambo and cut it twice to yield four pink hearts. So easy!
  • White Space on a Gorgeous Plaid. I just love this pink and blue plaid pattern from the Plaid Tidings 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper from Stampin’ Up!’s August – December 2020 Mini Catalog. I’ve wanted to use it since the papers came out, but I needed to find the right way to showcase it. Here’s a look at the patterns and colors in this incredible pack of papers:Plaid Tidings Designer Series Paper, Stampin Up! 153527I cropped my sentiment with a circle from the Stitched Shapes Dies. Rather than crop my sentiment with the circle that most closely fits the sentiment, I cropped it with a much larger circle. I knew I needed to would want a lot of white space to separate my simple sentiment from the plaid pattern behind it. Arrange a Wreath, Stampin Up!, Brian King, Valentines Day Card
  • Color Combination. Flirty Flamingo is not one of the colors represented in the Plaid Tidings 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper, but the shaded version of Melon Mambo in the patterns looks a lot like Flirty Flamingo. Here’s a closer look (you can click on this link to flip through all of these plaid pages in my online store): Plaid Tidings Pink Page, Stampin Up!Together with Seaside Spray, these pinks look amazing! If you like this mix of Seaside Spray, Flirty Flamingo and Melon Mambo as much as I do, I hope you’ll save this for future reference:Stampin Up! 6. Love the PLAIDS ! I even ordered extras ! Your color choices are Happy generators ! The biggest eye opener to me was I have never really looked at this set close up ! I really like it and did not realize there are so many different elements to it (like two wreaths !)
It goes on my list to order for sure .

  8. Gotta love a card that makes me smile!

  9. Super Cute! Love the simplicity of it. I do have a challenge for you though. I notice you don’t generally use ribbon on your cards and as a ribbon freak I’d love to see you make a card with ribbon on it. : )

  10. Just got our power back and I’m so glad we did or I would have missed out on this great card. It would be a good one to case if making multiples. I am so glad I bought this set. I’ve already used it much more then I thought I would. Thanks Brian.
