Butterfly Brilliance Collection, Stampin Up! 159408The card I’m sharing today showcases the Butterfly Bijou 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper and the Brilliant Wings Dies. With a simple fold in the paper, I was able to showcase both sides of this gorgeous pattern and the colors on each side. Here’s my card:

The Butterfly Bijou 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper is only available between today and May 3. While most 6″ x 6″ papers showcase 4 each of 12 double-sided designs, this pack of papers showcases 8 each of 6 double-sided designs. That makes it so easy to use for multiples you want to create. There are so many soft and sweet colors in this pack of papers. Here’s a look at the colors and patterns in the Butterfly Bijou 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper:

Butterfly Bijou Designer Series Paper, Stampin Up! 156824My card showcases three of the twelve patterns in this pack of papers. The folded base on my card features the rainbow of butterflies shown in the fifth pattern on the top row and the watercolored pattern on the other side. SO beautiful! In addition, I cropped the butterfly at the center of my project from the first page shown above. When I folded the paper, I didn’t tightly crease it (like I’m accustomed to doing with other scored lines in cardmaking – this left a little dimension on the fold that I really like. Here’s a closer look:

I cut a second butterfly with Thick Basic White cardstock and layered it with the Designer Series Paper cutout about, giving it a solid base to not get crushed or bend in transport. This page lines up with the Butterfly Wings Dies, cutting out each of six butterflies at once. Brilliant! Here’s a look at the coordinating Butterfly Wings Dies:

Brilliant Wings Dies, Stampin Up! 155523See how all six of the butterflies at the center of this page line up perfectly with the single die from Brilliant Wings? Cool, huh?

Butterfly Bijou, Butterfly Wings Dies, Stampin Up!, Brian KingUnderneath the flap on my card (and in the top, right corner of this page from Butterfly Bijou), there are Bermuda Bay and Misty Moonlight butterflies, but you can only see the So Saffron, Calypso Coral and Magenta Madness butterflies on the panel of this card. If you like this mix of So Saffron, Calypso Coral and Magenta Madness as much as I do, I hope you’ll save this for future reference:

  1. Love that sweet little fold and the way it exposes the second side of the DSP.

  2. Beautiful card! Love the folded corner!

  3. Love how you strategically folded the corner to allow only the colors to show what you wanted. Great little banners with the sentiment. Enjoy your day!

    • Thanks so much, Hilda! I’m so happy to play with Spring colors (we had Spring weather for two days, but it’s cooling off again). Hope your day has been wonderful!

  4. I like your fold . How many times do you get to say that to someone !???
Love these butterflies . I have been fussy cutting some out of the dsp for fun ! BUT that die and stamp set is so neat when used to cut out a bunch !
    Really pretty card !

  5. So lovely Brian, thx for the reminder of simply folding over our gorgeous papers, love the little tags! Thx for the inspiration

  6. Brian, your beautiful card reminds me of Spring. Such a lovely thought when our real feel temperature up here in Maine is -19 degrees today!

    • Wowza! We had warm weather for a couple of days – but no more. Definitely not as cold as you have, but happy to share a little taste of Spring. 🙂

  7. I must admit, the slightly folded paper is a genius idea! I’ve not seen that before. Great job! Love this new suite. I especially love that we can cut all these beauties out without even stamping them. Great for when we’re in a hurry.
