Enjoy the Moment with Butterfly Bijou

After a one-day reprise to play with my Flowering Cactus Product Medley, I’m playing with some of the products from Stampin’ Up!’s Butterfly Bouquet Product Release again. There are two papers on this simple card from the new product release (and both of these are exclusive to this promotion). I couldn’t love the focal panel of paper more than I love this one. Here’s my card:

Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Butterfly Bijou and Natural Touch. Stampin’ Up! rolled out the Butterfly Bouquet Product Release on Tuesday – and it’s incredible. There is more information on the product release at the end of my post – for now, I’m focusing on the two papers featured in this release. While both of these papers are included in the new release and coordinate beautifully with the new Butterfly Brilliance Bundle, these papers will not carry over into the upcoming catalog and are only offered as a part of this release through May 3. Here’s a look at the colors and patterns in the gorgeous Butterfly Bijou 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper:Butterfly Bijou Designer Series Paper, Stampin Up! 156824Behind the Butterfly Bijou 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper on my card is a panel of the Natural Touch Specialty Paper. This 12″ x 12″ paper features two pages of a thin, pale woodgrain paper with a lightly embossed texture. Here’s a look at the Natural Touch Specialty Paper:Natural Touch Specialty Paper, Stampin Up!, 156825The Butterfly Bijou panel on my card measures 2-1/2″ x 4-1/2″, and the Natural Touch Specialty panel measures 3-1/2″ x 5-1/4″.
  • Enjoy the Moment. There’s something to Springy and peaceful about the sky-filled butterflies in this page of Butterfly Bijou 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper – it’s almost like we just witnessed a kaleidoscope of butterflies heading home after a cold winter. I wanted the perfect sentiment to go with this beautiful moment – and there’s none better than “ENJOY THE MOMENT” from the stamp set of the same name. Here’s a closer look: Enjoy the Moment, Butterfly Bijou, Stampin Up!, Brian KingI heat embossed each of the words with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Basic Black cardstock one-senitment-at-a-time by isolating each word with tape before dipping the stamp into Versamark. I punched each word with the Classic Label Punch and lined them up along the left side of each word. Here’s a look at the Enjoy the Moment stamp set: Enjoy the Moment, Stampin Up! 154452Along the right side of each word, I added a single Matte Black Dot, giving me a perfect accent to each important word. • Color Combination. There are two colors on the panel of Butterfly Bijou I showcase on my card – So Saffron and Bermuda Bay. There’s even a touch of Mango Melody in the butterfly wings. The soft colors on the watercolor-patterned paper are emboldened by the Basic Black borders on the butterfly wings. Black makes soft colors softer and bright colors brighter – love it. If you like this mix of So Saffron, Bermuda Bay and Basic Black as much as I do, I hope you’ll save this for future reference:  Stampin Up! Color Inspiration - So Saffron, Bermuda Bay, Basic Black

    • Thanks so much, Hilda! I couldn’t love this panel of the DSP more. So glad you like the combination of the two. Hope your day has been wonderful!

  2. I LOVE how you showcased the Butterfly Bijou DSP as the focal panel! Adding the Natural Touch Speciality Paper was definitely a perfect TOUCH as the backdrop! Wonderful card as usual Brain! I think I need to call you the King of DSP because you always rock ’em on your cards!

    • 🙂 Thanks so much, Tonya! It’s so easy to make beautiful things when the paper is oh-so-beautiful. I love this paper! Thanks so much! ♥

  4. Perfect sentiment for your lovely card and love how you used the matte dots beside it.

  5. Down-Right PERFECT my friend.

  6. Can’t wait to get my hands on this one. Perfect for Easter cards as the butterfly is a symbol of joy in the coming life. I’m anxious to see that specialty paper in person. Lovely card and wonderful layering.

  7. Another handsome card today Brian. Clean lines and simple design! Gotta love those matte black embellishments too!

  8. Brian- you always know how to inspire me! Love this beautiful card!

  9. Your designs are always so meticulously balanced. Love this card; deceptively simple and oh so elegant.

    • Thank you so much, Linda! I really appreciate that – I love to make cards that look simple but showcase many different elements or techniques. Always appreciate you.

  10. As always, another beautiful card, Brian. I’m a little slow today. Please explain the “isolating each word with tape” with regard to the sentiment. Whatever this means, it’s beautiful!

    • Thanks, Bobbi! Since the stamp set has all three words, I inked all three and then placed tape over the two I didn’t want and stamped it down. It turned out that I cut all three close the word in the sentiment and likely didn’t need to isolate all three of the words individually. Make sense?

  11. You have been rock in’ this bundle for sure! Another beautiful card!

  12. Love, love the crisp white on black sentiment blocks!
