So Lucky for the InKing Royalty Blog Hop

Many of my Stampin’ Up! team members (not only those with blogs) share their gorgeous projects in our team’s Facebook community – there’s such amazing and inspiring creativity in this group! I’m always excited when my team’s blog hop rolls around, though, because I get to share some of their amazing work with you. I’m just as excited to see their projects as you are, and I am proud to share them with you.

03-2021 IRBH Flowers & Fauna

Welcome to InKing Royalty’s March Blog Hop! During this year’s blog hops, we are having fun with our stamping favorites – our favorite themes for seasonal cards and projects. This month’s projects feature Flowers & Fauna, a brilliant starting point for so many projects. We are excited to share our creations with you today! After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.

So Lucky to Know You for St. Patrick’s Day

Happy St. Patrick’s Day! To celebrate, I’ve created a card with a beautiful, all-green flower using an intricate set of dies from Stampin’ Up!’s 2020 Annual Catalog. The idea came to me in a moment of genius – OK, it wasn’t MY moment of genius. My dear friend Jennifer messaged me over the weekend to suggest that the Many Layered Blossoms Dies would be beautiful in all green…how could I resist the suggestion? Here’s my card:

Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • All in Bloom. While I’ve used the sentiments in the Blossoms in Bloom stamp set A LOT, but this is only the second time I’ve showcased the gorgeous flowers that are cropped from the coordinating Many Layered Blossoms Dies. The dies are great when used alone, but they are incredible when layered together. Here’s a look at the gorgeous Blossoms in Bloom Bundle:Blossoms in Bloom Bundle, Stampin Up! 154123To combine these layers, I cropped the thicker die (top, right corner of the photo above) with Soft Sea Foam cardstock. I applied an Adhesive Sheet to a piece of Just Jade cardstock and cropped the more detailed die (bottom, left corner of the photo above). Once I pealed the adhesive sheet cover off the back of the cropped die, I carefully placed the detailed die over the thicker die, making sure all pieces were lined up. Voila! • So Lucky. I was surprised by how many sentiments I have with St. Patrick’s Day sayings. A quick thumb over the spines of my stamp sets taught me a lot – you, too, might be surprised. The sentiment I landed on, though, is from the Oval Occasions stamp set. Here’s a closer look at this stamp set: Oval Occasions, Stampin Up! 154477While this stamp set is offered as a bundle in the January – June 2021 Mini Catalog, the coordinating punch has been super-popular, so the punch and bundle are on backorder. You can still order this clever, fun stamp set right now, though. I “removed” the flowers above and below the sentiment by adding masking tape over the images before stamping down the inked stamp. Instead of using the Double Oval Punch, I used one of the ovals from the Stitched Shapes Dies to crop the sentiment.
  • Color Combination. There are so many great greens in Stampin’ Up!’s family of colors – and I love each and every one of them. For today’s card, I combined the delicate Soft Sea Foam with a 2020-2022 In Color, Just Jade. These two look great together, but it’s when they are showcased on a background panel of Pool Party that the two colors really came to life. If you like this mix of Soft Sea Foam, Pool Party and Just Jade as much as I do, I hope you will save this for future reference:Stampin Up! Color Inspiration - Soft Sea Foam, Pool Party, Just Jade
