A Welcoming Window Thank You

I’m not usually drawn to builder bundles with a lot of components to build a fireplace or tabletop. It makes me feel like I’m decorating – there’s nothing wrong with that, but it’s not my thing. There’s something about Welcoming Window, though, that pulled me in. I used multiple components from this bundle (new in Stampin’ Up!’s January – June 2021 Mini Catalog) to create a Springy thank you card. Here’s my card:

Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Welcoming Window. There are so many ways to build the welcoming window – and each of them is so welcoming. While I can picture several of these windows in a small, European cottage, I wanted my window to look like a New York City brownstone. It still has a European flair, but I don’t quite mind. No matter where this window lives, it’s a beautiful way to say thank you – or any variety of sentiments you want to share.Welcoming Window Bundle, Stampin Up! 156271My card started with the band of Cajun Craze bricks – I wasn’t sure where I was going with it and just started stamping. The bricks weren’t perfectly aligned, but that’s OK – it’s part of the charm. Rather than stamp a whole page of brick, I stamped enough to mount my beautiful window. Here are some Stampin’ Up! samples that showcase the versatility of this bundle:  Welcoming WIndow Bundle Samples, Stampin Up!
  • No-Pain Window Panes. I love the shape of this window and that it comes with six panes. I couldn’t, though, leave the panes empty – or you’d see the brick wall behind it. I cropped the window once with Soft Suede cardstock (keeping the frame) and again with Pool Party cardstock. Before I lifted the frame and six panes off the cutting mat, I secured them in place with a sticky note. That way, I could transfer them to my finished project, securing each pane inside the appropriate frame. Easy peasy. Here’s a look at the finished product: Welcoming Window, Stampin Up!, Brian KingI originally wanted to mount my focal panel on a card base of Cajun Craze, but I decided to make my base Pool Party to match the window panes. To add another touch of Cajun Craze, I stamped “Thank you” in Cajun Craze and cropped it with the smallest of the Layering Circles Dies.
  • Warm Trio. The three colors that stand out to me most in my card are Pool Party (on the base and in the window panes), Soft Suede (in the window frame, shutters and frame around the focal panel) and Cajun Craze (the sentiment and brick background). Together, they are a warm trio of colors that look great together and provide a lovely backdrop for the bright jug of flowers. ♥ If you like this mix of Pool Party, Soft Suede and Cajun Craze as much as I do, I hope you’ll save this for future reference: Stampin Up!
