This is a great time to be a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator! Not only were we able to download the 2021 Annual Catalog this week, but we have had the joy of hanging out with the new 2021-2023 In Colors. Demonstrators can order select products from the new catalog STARTING TODAY – the catalog goes live to customers in May.
Because our pre-order kicks off today, I’m also able to share a peek at the GORGEOUS front cover of the new catalog. How exciting is this:
I’m also able to share the new In Colors with you today – and I’m excited to do it. I already know I’m going to love working with these new colors, and I’m certain you are going to love them, too!
Every year Stampin’ Up! introduces us to a set of five on-trend colors that will stick around for two years. It’s like Christmas for me – I love opening up that new catalog and searching for these colors. I love soaking them in and finding what color combinations make them most special. SO EXCITING! Here are Stampin’ Up!’s 2021-2023 In Colors:
Are you already in love with these colors?! I can’t wait for my new supplies to arrive so I can put these gorgeous, new colors to use. After a deeper dive into each of these five new colors, I’m going to share how you can buy these inks and papers and ribbons today!
The best way to show you how these colors fit into our current color families is to show you how they look right next to colors we already know. It might also help to show how they work with other colors you know and love. Here are my thoughts on each of these amazing, new colors and some comparisons to colors already in our color families:
FRESH FREESIA
If you love purples and pinks, then you are going to love Fresh Freesia. If you don’t love purples and pinks, there’s still a good chance you’ll fall in love with this one. At first glance, you’d say this new In Color is “light purple,” this color is a chameleon. It’s enlightening to see this new colors side-by-side with some of our favorite purples. As you can see below, Fresh Freesia is brighter than the now-retired Purple Posy and looks very pink next to Highland Heather:
Embracing the softness of Fresh Freesia, I think it looks great with Petal Pink and Pool Party. This combination is perfect for a baby shower or Easter celebration. What do you think of this color combination?
POLISHED PINK
Stampin’ Up! hosted a guessing game to introduce demonstrators to these new colors – when we knew the colors was named “Polished Pink” but hadn’t yet seen the color, I assumed we were getting a powder pink. Instead, we picked up a bright, beautiful pink that’s not a bright as Magenta Madness (a 2020-2022 In Color) or as deep and rich of Melon Mambo. Polished Pink has its own personality, and I like it! Here’s a comparison:
If I had Polished Pink ink or cardstock right now, I’d combine it with Daffodil Delight and Coastal Cabana for bright-and-cheery combination. I can’t wait to play with this one.
EVENING EVERGREEN
“Brian, Do we need another dark green in our color families?” A week ago, I’d certainly have told you we have all the deep green we need. Today, my response would be different. There’s something really special about a green that’s so rich that it makes Shaded Spruce look kelly green. 🙂 Evening Evergreen doesn’t have the brown tones of Mossy Meadow that I love so much, but I’m really excited about this new colors. Here’s a comparison:
Even though it’s possible to showcase this new green throughout the year, it seems fitting that Evening Evergreen would be perfect for our Winter cards, don’t you think? I think it would be perfect for the Holidays when paired with Sahara Sand and Merry Merlot:
SOFT SUCCULENT
Here we go again! As soon as I saw Soft Succulent, I thought it was a lot like Mint Macaron, but this pale green is far richer and dustier. It’s still a soft tone but with its own personality. Here’s how Soft Succulent stands up next to Mint Macaron and Just Jade:
Don’t you think Soft Succulent would look great with So Saffron and Misty Moonlight? Any combination of yellow, green and blue is wonderful (in my book), but I especially like how these colors play with one another:
PALE PAPAYA
Like Fresh Freesia, Pale Papaya won’t be tied down to one color description. Is it a pink or an orange? Pale Papaya won’t be put in a box. I’d best describe Pale Papaya as peachy … or maybe papaya-y. Here’s how this new In Color looks between Petal Pink and Calypso Coral:
I think a mix of Pear Pizzazz, Pale Papaya and Cinnamon Cider is grand! The cool tones of Pale Papaya blend well with the warm tones of Pizzazz and Cider. Here’s a look at this color combination:

Your color comparisons are always a highlight for me — insightful and creative. I get a deeper appreciation of the new In-colors when I see a display like yours. Thanks for helping us to better appreciate our soon-to-be new friends!
Thanks so much, Linda! It’s the first thing I do with a new catalog – search for the new colors and try to understand them. I’m really excited about this bunch. ♥
Lovely lineup!
♥ Thanks, Liz! So happy with these new colors.
I never like the In Colors when they are unveiled, and I never like all of them. I am wrong this year. I want them all!
I’m the same way, Paula. It usually takes me a while to warm up to some of them, but these are already exciting to me. Yay!
Thank you for the color combo samples ! You really never get the real color until you have it in hand ,but your displays are always helpful .
Thanks so much, Sonny! I can’t wait to get these papers and inks in my hands. ♥
Love every one of the new colors! Thanks for your color combo vignettes. Makes it easy to see all the best features of each color.
That makes me so happy, Dianne! This is how I think about the colors (how I get to know them and figure out how I’ll work with them). Glad these combos help you, too. ♥
Yes, Brian, I am already in love with the “In Colors!” I don’t know about anyone else, but for me, the new colors are always the highlight of the catalogs.
I’m right there with you, Georgette! It’s the first thing I do when a new catalog is released – head right to the In Colors. I love this lineup!
Great post today, Brian. Lots of good color inspiration.
Thanks, Debbie! It’s a great lineup – it will be so easy to work these colors into our current color families. Yay!
Your color combos are always so lovely Brian, thanks for the inspiration!
Thanks so much, Dawn! I’m HAPPY to share. ♥
The color comparisons are GENIUS! Thank you!
Awww…thank you so much MaryAnn! I love pulling these together and sharing them with wonderful people like you.
Thanks for the comparisons and the combos! You are the best!
So happy to share, my friend! Glad you like them.
Oh thank you from the bottom of my foggy brain. I have a cold and you know the feeling. I have been wondering about how the new colors go with the old ones. Of course, you had to fulfill this wish! I think the Evening Evergreen just might beat out my favorite Mossy Meadow. Loving your color samples. Thank you Brian! Now, I wish I had a color printer! But, this will do for now. Hugs, I still visit daily but just have not been taking the time to comment.
I’m so happy to share, Chris! I’m sorry you aren’t feeling well, but I’m sending good vibes your way for a quick recovery. ♥
Love your color palette comparison photos!!!!
How does Polished Pink work with Flirty Flamingo?
We needed a blue instead of 2 greens. Altho the greens are pretty.
Thanks for sharing!!!
I put those two side-by-side, Karen and they are not even similar. Flirty Flamingo has a lot more orange in it than you’d imagine – you can see it when it’s placed next to a “proper” pink. 🙂 I’m always happy with greens or blues – I’ll take what I can get. 🙂 Thanks for your comments. ♥
I’m so excited! Thanks for the preview.
I’m so glad you like it, Debra! This is a wonderful collection! ♥
Happy April 1st! This color palette is absolutely stunning. I’m definitely saving my pennies for stamps and card stock. May is just around the corner!
It’ll be here before we know it. I hope you’ll save lots and lots of pennies. 🙂
I always save your Color Combos for future reference. Enjoy your weekend.
Thanks so much, Hilda! These are fun to pull together – glad you like them.
Another one for my “book of Brian”…… I always love checking your blog when the new In-Colors are introduced. You always have such good comparisons and colours coordination and combos. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you so much, Louise! I love playing with the new colors each year, and I’m happy that shows. All the best!
Brian, I wanted to let you know how MUCH I enjoy your In Color comparisons, so I’ll just say “Ditto” to all the previous comments. That is such a great help!
Than you so much, Robin! I loved playing with these colors and am so happy to share. ♥
Great heads up on the new colors!
Thanks so much, Brent! This is a great color collection to work with. ♥
I always love your descriptions of the new colors and suggested combinations. I think SU should hire you to write this up for the new catalog! 😉. I think the colors are beautiful and can’t wait to use them!
I really LOVE the idea of being hired to describe the colors. Now, how can I make that happen? 🙂 Thanks so much, Mary! ♥
