6 Inspiration Projects for Stampin’ Up!’s Retiring Products List

I’ve been so excited to play with all of the products I can order from Stampin’ Up!’s 2021 Annual Catalog (demonstrators can pre-order select items) that I have not really focused on the retiring products from Stampin’ Up!’s 2020 Annual Catalog. I spent some time with my Retiring Products List this past weekend and realized there are SO MANY more products retiring than I initially thought. It’s a great thing that so many are deeply discounted. Yay!

If you are just learning about this Retiring Products Sale, stop what you are doing and click on the banner below to start shopping. There are still lots of deals to be had, but these products are only available until May 3 or when supplies run out.

Today’ I’m going to share six cards I’ve shared with you in the past that feature a handful of retiring products. For each project, I’ve included a list of the retiring products showcased. You can click on any of these projects to see my original post for each.

I made this card for my college friend last year. Kelly is a teacher and was really struggling with how the pandemic was playing out in her school. There’s never a bad time to give a teacher an apple (especially if it keeps the doctor away) – and there’s never a bad time to remind someone how amazing they are.

Harvest Hellos, Strong and Beautiful, Stampin Up!, Brian KingWhile the Harvest Hellos stamp set and coordinating Apple Builder Punch is perfect for an apple (the name kind of gives it away), the stamp set and punch also make a perfect pumpkin. So much to love about this duo! For instance, the apple stem transforms into a pumpkin stem by simply flipping it upside down. How fun!

I’m still in awe of the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder and will miss it very much. It adds a perfect texture that doesn’t distract from the rest of the card. Love it!

Here are the retiring products I used on this project:

Do we have a teacher theme here? I made these little cups with a friend who wanted some teacher gifts. Each cup was filled with chocolates and accompanied a gift card to a local coffee shop. That part is insignificant, though. 🙂 What’s important is the adorable mix of animals, hearts and fun sentiments that adorned each:

For $7.95, it’s worth it to place an order for the Special Day Dies. I never picked up the stamp set, but I love the little word balloon and grass border in this set. The Tear & Tape is being reconfigured to a different size in the new catalog – not totally going away.

I struggled with this card. I remember cutting and layering and adding and taking away over and over until I got the exact balance I wanted on the card. I was so happy with it when I was done. All my St. Louis peeps have picked up this set already. I sent this card to my Great Aunt Margie this year. Y’all know her, right?

I’ve used the Stitched Nested Labels Dies A LOT since they were first introduced. I love these guys and am happy to see them so greatly discounted. They deserve a grand retirement.

This card would have never come to light were it not for a sketch challenge that sent me for a whirl. I am so happy for the journey. It allowed me to play with the retiring Peaceful Boughs stamp set and coordinating Beautiful Boughs Dies (currently discounted). The card also incorporates the retiring Stitched Triangles Dies and Itty Bitty Christmas stamp set.

There have been some amazing cards made with the incredible trellis and gate with the Grace’s Garden set and coordinating Garden Gateway Dies. I stuck with some of the simple images and sweet sentiments in the set for this card: Grace's Garden Bundle, Stampin Up!, Brian KingHere are the retiring products I used on this project:

I dragged a Pool Party ink pad across Pool Party cardstock to create the fun background on the below card. Still, the most exciting part is the dandelion and beautiful sentiment, don’t you think?

Sweet Silhouette Dies, Harvest Hellos, Stampin Up!, Brian KingHere are the retiring products I used on this card:

While the Sweet Silhouette Dies coordinate with the GORGEOUS Silhouette Scenes stamp set (you should really get both), these dies are marked 60% off – and are perfect with or without the stamp set.

I hope you’ve been inspired by these projects – maybe, just maybe, will take another look at the Retiring Products Sale.

Thanks for stopping by today!

  1. Gorgeous samples to highlight retiring favorites! I adore the simplicity of the “inspire” card.

  2. Cool way to use the DSP and make that apple stand out! Fun card!

  3. Thank you for pointing out that cute set of DIES that are on sale . I missed that ! There are a lot of dies to use in that set on different card
Cute treat cups ! I am always looking for new TREAT container ideas !

  4. Love your cards! The teacher gifts were such a great idea. How did you cut out the animals so perfectly, I don’t see a matching die set?

    • Thanks, Avis! There are not coordinating dies. I’m pretty sure I used my Scan-n-Cut for those but only use it when there aren’t dies or a punch. These guys were too cut to NOT crop out. 🙂
