Dandy Dragonflies for the InKing Royalty Blog Hop

Many of my Stampin’ Up! team members (not only those with blogs) share their gorgeous projects in our team’s Facebook community – there’s such amazing and inspiring creativity in this group! I’m always excited when my team’s blog hop rolls around, though, because I get to share some of their amazing work with you. I’m just as excited to see their projects as you are, and I am proud to share them with you.

04-2021 IRBH Butterflies & Dragonflies

Welcome to InKing Royalty’s April Blog Hop! During this year’s blog hops, we are having fun with our stamping favorites – our favorite themes for seasonal cards and projects. This month’s projects feature a mix of butterflies and dragonflies – just in time for Spring. We are excited to share our creations with you today! After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.

It’s a Good Day with Dandy Dragonflies

I admit – sometimes I buy an inexpensive stamp set because I love one of the sentiments or images in the set. That was the case with the soon-retiring Zoo Globe stamp set – I love the little “it’s a good day” and could see using it in a lot of ways. Over time, I have grown to love all of the images in the set. Here’s my super-sweet, dragonfly-adorned dragonfly card for today’s InKing Royalty Blog Hop:

Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Dandy Laser-Cut Paper. Today marks the second time I’ve showcased the Dandy Laser-Cut Paper on my blog. That’s such a crazy fact because I reach for it all the time and have so many great ideas for ways to use it. The laser-cut paper comes with two sheets and all the layers and elements shown below:Dandy Laser-Cut Paper, Stampin Up!, 154300My original concept for this card was to have the flower and dragonfly fit on the circle – planned to snip off the flower around the edge of the circle. I loved it hanging over the circle too much to snip it away. ♥ Not only is the detailed background panel pulled from this pack of laser-cut designs, but the flower and dragonfly are pulled from it, too! I inked one of these panels with a Blending Brush for this sweet-and-simple butterfly card (fitting for today’s hop): Well Said, Dandy Laser-Cut Paper, Stampin Up!, Brian King
  • Retiring Favorites. My card features two retiring products: the Zoo Globe stamp set and 2-1/4″ Circle Punch (as I’m writing this post, I realize the punch has already sold). Perhaps that shows why it’s important to pick up your retiring favorites soon? Here’s a look at Zoo Globe: Zoo Globe, Stampin Up!, 153303I heat-embossed the sentiment with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Blackberry Bliss. After it was set, I cropped it with the circle punch. • Rich Jewel Tones. The rich jewel tones showcased on my card are pulled straight from the Dandy Garden 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Papers – I used two of the pages from this paper on my card. Here’s a look at the colors and patterns in the Dandy Garden 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper (you can click on the photo to flip through all of the pages in my online store): Dandy Garden Designer Series Paper, Stampin Up!, 154297If you like the mix of Bumblebee, Misty Moonlight and Blackberry Bliss as much as I do, I hope you’ll save this for future reference: Stampin Up!
