Be Inspired by Flowers

It’s time for another Be Inspired Design Team Blog Hop – what fun! The Be Inspired Design Team is a group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators from all over the world who are excited to share our themed projects with you. I’m so honored to be a part of this group of talented stampers!

For today’s Be Inspired Blog Hop, we are sharing projects that showcase beautiful flowers. Stampin’ Up! offers so many great flowers stamps, dies and punches, so I’m as excited to make my way through the hop as you are. We hope our projects inspire you and that you leave with lots of fun ideas! If you aren’t starting the hop here, then you probably just popped over from the amazing project shared by my talented, Canadian friend Carolynn Sander.

Wall of Pink Flowers

I had a fun concept for today’s card, but I didn’t plan for how long it would take me to execute it. I have no regrets, though, because it’s exactly what I wanted to make! My card features 3,245 tiny flowers (that’s just an uneducated estimate) from the Hydrangea Dies (new in Stampin’ Up!’s January – June 2021 Mini Catalog and carrying forward into Stampin’ Up!’s 2021 Annual Catalog). Here’s the wall of pink flowers I created for today’s flower-themed blog hop:

The wall of flowers is cropped from a die strip in the Hydrangea Dies that crops nine small flowers. The flowers are accented with a smile-inducing sentiment from the coordinating Hydrangea Haven stamp set. Here’s a look at this fun, perfect-for-Spring bundle:

Hydrangea Haven Bundle, Stampin Up! 156251Before I started gluing down all of these tiny flowers, I made space for the sentiment by placing the Stampin’ Dimensionals on the 3-1/4″ x 4-1/2″ panel of Magenta Madness cardstock. That serves two purposes: (1) to make it easier to add the sentiment afterwards (vs. adding Stampin’ Dimensionals over top of the flowers) and (2) to save me the time I would have spend layering flowers over an area that would be covered up. Yay, me! Here’s a look at the layout before everything was assembled:

To give my little flowers a little bounce, I pressed the center of them into a foam mat with the piercing side of my Take Your Pick Tool. As I layered them on the focal panel, I made sure to tuck some behind in an alternating fashion so I didn’t end up with the last layer of flowers on top.

The stitched frame around my sentiment is from another flower-focused bundle I love very much. If you love flowers (and I know you do), you should take a look at the In Bloom Bundle. The Bundle is featured in both Stampin’ Up!’s January – June 2021 Mini Catalog and the upcoming 2021 Annual Catalog – but (be warned!) the 10% savings goes away when the Mini Catalog closes for business on June 30. Here’s a look at this amazing bundle:

You don’t see a lot of all-pink projects from me, but once I started cropping Magenta Madness flowers, I knew I needed to make this a monochromatic project.  Magenta Madness looks GREAT with Daffodil Delight or Coastal Cabana or Granny Apple Green – all were options to accent these flowers – but I decided to keep it all Magenta Madness. What a fun challenge!

Magenta Madness, Stampin Up! 2020-2022 In ColorMagenta Madness is a bright (almost neon) pink from Stampin’ Up!’s 2020 – 2022 In Color collection. If you would like to shop all things Magenta Madness, click here.

What do you think?! Was it worth my time to crop and glue down all of these flowers? Do you think I’ll recreate this card again? I’d love to hear your thoughts. ♥

I’m so glad you stopped by and hope you like my project. I also hope you’ll continue the Be Inspired Design Team Blog Hop to see more projects that I’m sure you’ll love. The next stop is my friend across the pond, Emma Goddard. Click on the banner below to continue through the hop:

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you’ll hop through the rest of the projects in this lineup.

  1. Wow! What a wonderful way to showcase the color and die.

  2. Suzanne Patt Cullen

AMAZING, Brian! And beautiful! Magenta Madness was a great choice for this card! Did you happen to keep track of how many times you ran that die through?

    • Thank you so much, Suzie! I wish I’d looked, but it wasn’t as many times as I had planned when I was thinking of other flowers since this die is a row of nine. It’s possible I ran it through 15 – 25 times.

  3. Truly a labor of love! It’s amazing! I love it and your color!

  4. WOW! Check out that gorgeous texture. This is a card for the ages!

  5. Fabulous….and then some! I do love how your mind works! Amazing wall of flowers!

    • Thank you so much, Linda! Sometimes I want to shut my mind off and have it stop telling me to do stuff. This was fun, though. Glad you like it.

  6. I am in love with this card! I don’t know if you’re going to make another one, but I know I’m going to give it a try. Thanks for the inspiration!

    • Thanks so much, Barbara! It’s rewarding to complete, but I don’t normally like to take that much time on a card. So happy you like it and hope you’ll give it a shot! β™₯

  7. What a great card!

  8. Wowza! That is one gorgeous panel of pink flowers! Well done.

  9. Wow! Just Wow! That is gorgeous! Worth every minute.

  10. AH-MAZ-ING! I had to read it all a few times to understand how you did it. “He didn’t really do that?” YES, he did! Well done, my friend!

  11. And I am speechless! Wow… just Wow!

  12. WOW my friend……This is the kind of card I would fall face first into. LOVE IT

  13. George Martin had a Wall of Sound. I LOVE your Wall of Flowers. And I believe the number is 3,246….. nice card!!!

    • πŸ™‚ Thanks, Cindie! At so many events (that I haven’t been to in more than a year), there’s a wall of flowers for photo ops. I just created that in a very small form. Glad you like it.

  14. Beautiful Brian, but I think you miscounted. There are 3,246 flowers!

  15. Your patience is underestimated Brian. What a lovely, dimensional, bright, fun card and if the receiver even thought of throwing it away I would track them down and give them a talking to! You continue to amaze!

  16. WOW! This is absolutely incredible! Your patience and attention to detail totally paid off, the card is out of this world amazing.

  17. Selina S Kilpatrick

Holy Moly that’s a lot of flowers! The result is just stunning.

    • Thank you so much, my friend! β™₯ Once I started, there was no turning back. Perhaps we could make one of these for our next club meeting?

  18. Brian, you are much too clever and your card is stunningly beautiful! The word β€œ patient” ( adjective not noun) has new meaning for me as I admire your work! Love magenta madness!❀️❀️❀️

  19. This card is absolutely breathtaking and so beautiful! Can you tell that I LOVe it?! Thanks for the tip to leave room for the sentiment and putting dimentionals down.

    • Happy to share, Tracy! Thanks for your comments. I didn’t want to waste any flowers (that were going to be covered up) and certainly didn’t want a wobbly sentiment. πŸ™‚

  20. Wow! As soon as I saw this I thought to myself, that must have taken ages to make. Then I read your estimate for the number of flowers – time consuming to die cut and then assembly time too. Wow! It sure was worth your time it’s absolutely stunning

    • It’s possible my estimate was dramatically overstated (but you know that, right?). Still…a lot of flowers and a lot of fun. Thanks, Karen! β™₯

  21. Lovely card, Brian. All those flowers!!! That is just crazy!!

  22. WOW! NO WAY!! You certainly have a lot of patience….or you totally lost your mind while you were doing this. HA! Seriously though, this is stunning! What a perfect, sweet card. I can tell you for sure…I won’t be casing this one! I’ll just sit and stare at yours.

  23. Absolutely stunning card Brian, totally love it x

    • Thanks, Angela! I had fun with this one. Was a bit “meh” about the challenge at first and then decided to embrace it and FILL the page with flowers. πŸ™‚

  24. Wow! Brian, any way you count it, that is a lot of flowers. Your card is gorgeous and will be one you’ll never forget. Thanks for persisting to get it finished and sharing it with us today. Enjoy the rest of your week.

  25. Wow, what a lot of work, but it is so pretty πŸ˜‰

  26. That is incredible! Lots of die cutting!

  27. Oh my gosh I had to click on your link just to see if you mentioned how many flowers. I think I will do this card for a stamp a stack and they will make 4 of these cards each, so that means we will only have to punch out 12,980 flowers! Do you think we can finish in 1 1/2 hours? Your card is stunning and really stands out. Thanks for sharing Brian! See you SOON???

    • Ha! Thanks, Lorri! I think this card would be a BRILLIANT choice for a stamp-a-stack. It’s SO clean-and-simple – perfect for beginners. I love how you think! β™₯ Will see you sometime – not sure how soon.

  28. WOW! Just WOW! This is incredible! You are amazing….and so is your card!
    Wow!

  29. Yes, a truly amazing and wonderful card. I’m much to lazy, but sure admire your tenacious crafting!
