Happy Mother’s Day with Pretty Perennials

Happy Mother’s Day! Some of my favorite people in this world happen to be mothers or incredible teachers, aunts or mentors – and today is a special day for those special women. Whether you are celebrating with or thinking about a special Mom in your life today, I hope your Mother’s Day is wonderful! I won’t get to see Mom for Mother’s Day this year (she visited for a couple of weeks in April). Here’s a Mother’s Day card I made to share with my mother-in-law:

Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Two Bundles. My card features flowers and a sentiment from two bundles in Stampin’ Up!’s January – June 2021 Mini Catalog that aren’t carrying forward into Stampin’ Up!’s 2021 Annual Catalog. There’s still time to pick them up, though, as the mini catalog doesn’t retire until the end of June. Both are great floral sets that deserve a second look. Here’s the Pretty Perennials Bundle that I used to build the trio of flowers and the leaves behind it:Pretty Perennials Bundle, Stampin Up! 156234The Happy Mother’s Day sentiment is pulled from Wrapped Bouquet Bundle. • True Love. Even with all the amazing, new papers in Stampin’ Up!’s, I’ve never lost interest in the True Love Designer Series Paper from Stampin’ Up!’s January – June 2021 Mini Catalog. I LOOOVE the black-and-white pages in this pack of papers – they gave me the perfect backdrop for the soft, sweet colors. Pretty Perennials Bundle, Wrapped Bouquet Bundle, Stampin Up!, Brian King, Mother's Day cardI CASE’d this arrangement of flowers from the Treat Box on page 31 of the January – June 2021 Mini Catalog. I love how the soft flowers are set against the dark, modern backdrop. • Soft and Sweet Colors. My Mother’s Day card features a trio of soft colors – and two are 2021 In Colors. Blushing Bride is so sweet nestled with Fresh Freesia and Soft Succulent. I love the combination! If you like this mix of Fresh Freesia, Blushing Bride and Soft Succulent as much as I do, I hope you’ll save this for future reference:Stampin Up! Treat Yourself this Mother’s Day

Once the gifts have been received and the celebratory meals have been enjoyed, I hope you’ve received everything you wanted on this special day. If you didn’t end up with the perfect gift, then I know how you can get exactly what you want – treat yourself. A little (or big) Stampin’ Up! order is the perfect gift, and you deserve it.

There’s no better way to celebrate someone you love than to make them a handmade card that’s designed just for them. Chocolate doesn’t hurt, either. No matter how you choose to spend it, I hope you have a wonderful Mother’s Day!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Brian

  1. Love the layered flowers against the black patterned background.

    • Thanks, Mary! The gorgeous leaves get lost a bit in the photo, but they are quite lovely in person. Hope your Mother’s Day is fantastic! β™₯

  2. Beautiful card, Brian!! The True Love DSP is a real workhorse – one of my faves tooπŸ‘

    • I love a great set of black-and-white papers – and this one is amazing! Happy for the Pattern Party Host pack in this year’s catalog (1/2 of the pages are black-and-white). Thanks so much, Elisha!

  3. Beautiful card! I love how you used a printed black background to make those pastels pop!

    • I started with bright flowers, but I thought the pastels would be even sweeter against the black backdrop. Happy Mother’s Day, my friend! β™₯

  4. Every woman loves flowers for Mother’s Day and you sure as heck delivered some beautiful ones today.

You’ve really done your due diligence with Pretty Perennials- it is a great addition to any collection! I’d get it right now if I didn’t already have it. (CASE’d your SAB card you made with it, BTW). Great color combo, too!

    • πŸ™‚ Thanks, Cindie! I’ve had fun with this set – sad to see it go (but glad it’s sticking around for another 1-1/2 months). Hope your day is wonderful! β™₯

  6. This card is BEAUTIFUL Brian. Please wish you mom a very HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY from me.

  7. Love the scored detail framing the DSP, nice touch to a great card! Pretty Perennials is my favorite set so far!

    • Thank you so much, Linda! I had to scroll up to see what you meant. πŸ™‚ I actually have a thin layer of Blushing Bride behind the DSP, but I can see how it looks scored in the photo. You give me too much credit – and extra layer is much easier than a scored frame. πŸ™‚ Hope your day is wonderful! β™₯

  8. Lovely card with a beautiful color combination.

  9. I’m in love with the beautiful new In-Colors and how you used them today. This is a very pretty card with the black and white DSP layer setting it off. So pretty. Happy Mother’s Day to your mother. She is a sweetheart! Enjoy your day!
