Life is Better with Friends Like You

After all the warm, right colors I’ve been showcasing this week, I wanted to make something with a real pop of color. Naturally, I reached for the bright (but still very sophisticated) Polished Pink, one of Stampin’ Up!’s 2021-2023 In Colors to make a bookmark and a pouch I can tuck the bookmark in and give as a gift. Here’s my project:

Flowers of Friendship Bookmark, Stampin Up!, Brian KingI was going to mount the 3-3/4″ x 5″ pouch base on a card front, but I decided it worked just fine like this – AND I could put this in a regular envelope and send it just like a card. Here’s a look at the tag that’s tucked in the pocket of this base:

Flowers of Friendship Bookmark, Stampin Up!, Brian KingHow sweet is that?! Not only does this card feature a Polished Pink base (with outlines of Night of Navy and Night of Navy rhinestones), but the flower on the card is also Polished Pink (the flower and sentiment are from the Flowers of Friendship Bundle). The tag is cropped from Daffodil Delight cardstock and Night of Navy cardstock with the Tailor Made Tags Dies.

If the flowers and punch don’t win  you over in the Flowers of Friendship Bundle, the amazing sentiments should – so many ways to say “thank you,” including the sentiment I used on the tag. Here’s a look at the Flowers of Friendship Bundle:

Flowers of Friendship Bundle, Stampin Up!, 155590The Tailor Made Tags Dies are a must-have from Stampin’ Up!’s 2021 Annual Catalog. I love these dies! I cropped one tag from Daffodil Delight and one one tag from Night of Navy. Here’s a look at the Tailor Made Tags:

Tailor Made Tags Dies, Stampin Up!, 155563The Tailor Made Tags Dies are one of eight unbundled sets of dies in Stampin’ Up!’s 2021 Annual Catalog that you are going to want to check out. To see all eight, CLICK HERE.

I stamped the flower and leaves with Memento Tuxedo ink on Thick Basic White cardstock and punched them with the Flowers & Leaves Punch. I colored the flower petals with Polished Pink Stampin’ Blends and the center of the flower with Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends. I colored the leaves with Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends. Here’s a closer look:

Flowers of Friendship Bookmark, Stampin Up!, Brian KingTo build the pouch, I simple cut a base and then another piece the same width where the top was angled. I played around with this piece of Polished Pink 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper so I could cut the plaid pattern along the diagonal of I wanted for the pouch but just cutting along the lines of the diagonal pattern and then building the base from there. I added a Night of Navy strip and three Night of Navy rhinestones from the Holiday Rhinestone Basic Jewels that have carried over into this year’s Annual Catalog (the pack includes 140 rhinestones in Cherry Cobbler, Coastal Cabana, Night of Navy, Pumpkin Pie and Shaded Spruce):
