Congrats with Hats Off

One of the things I love most about making cards is that I can customize cards for the person I am giving them to. Whether its a bouquet of the recipient’s favorite flowers or a color scheme you know they’ll love, it’s fun to make cards that are special for the recipient. Today I am sharing the graduation card I made for Garrison, my nephew/godson who was graduated from high school this weekend, and gave to him Saturday night. The hat at the center of the card showcases the colors the college he’ll attend in the Fall. Here’s my card:

Hats Off, You Are Amazing, Stampin Up!, Brian KingGarrison is a laid back, no-nonsense guy. He works hard and had done really well in school. He sees this card as royal blue and gold, the colors of his soon-to-be college home. We see it as Pacific Point and Bumblebee (because we know the truth). 🙂 Yesterday I shared the graduation card I made for my Mom to give to Garrison, my nephew who was graduated from high school this weekend. If you missed the Treasured Medallion card, you can see it here.

My card features a mix of new products from Stampin’ Up!’s 2021 Annual Catalog and some products that are soon to retire from Stampin’ Up!’s January – June 2021 Mini Catalog.

New in Stampin’ Up!’s 2021 Annual Catalog

I’m not sure you noticed it, but there’s a trucker hat on this card – did you spot it before I pointed it out? 🙂 The hat is stamped and cropped with a die from the Hat Builder Dies, part of the Hats Off Bundle in Stampin’ Up!’s 2021 Annual Catalog. Here’s a look at this bundle:

Hats Off Bundle, Stampin Up!, 158361 I played with this hat die for my Pumpkin in the Fungeon event last weekend (this hat is perfect for the baseball-themed kit). At the time, though, I just cropped the hat. I hadn’t noticed the stamp set coordinated so perfectly. I LOVE the stitching the die gives this hat – perfect for a trucker hat. I also love the assortment of options for the front of the cap. Here’s a closer look at the hat:Hats Off, You Are Amazing, Stampin Up!, Brian KingYou might think there are only a few occasions to use the hat, but the sentiments and add-ons really make it a versatile bundle. Where else are you going to find a little bison when you need it?!

Retiring Soon

There are two retiring favorites featured on this card: the Well Suited Designer Series Paper and the You are Amazing stamp set. Both have been go-to favorites of mine from Stampin’ Up!’s January – June 2021 Mini Catalog, and I’ll be sad to see them go. Here’s a look at the patterns and colors int he Well Suited Designer Series Paper that gave me a base for this hat:

Well Suited Designer Series Paper, Stampin Up!, 154562I’ve used the You Are Amazing stamp set more than any other in Stampin’ Up!’s January – June 2021 Mini Catalog. If you don’t have this set, then please consider grabbing it up before it retires on June 30 (or before supplies run out). Here’s a look at the incredible You Are Amazing stamp set – :

The color scheme on my card pulls in the school colors for the college Garrison will be attending in the Fall – gold and blue. If you like this mix of Bumblebee, Pacific Point and Night of Navy as much as I do, I hope you’ll save this for future reference:

  1. A “matte-less” card! It looks GREAT!!!

    • Can you believe it?! There’s another layer of cardstock under the Designer Series Paper to make it sturdy enough to pop up with Stampin’ Dimensionals. So happy you noted the mattlessness.

  2. Love how you customized this card with the colors for the college your nephew will attend.

  3. Great color combination for a great card!
