Wishing You the Very Best with True Love

After anger, denial and a little bit of depression, I’ve finally reached the acceptance phase in my cycle of grief over the retirement of Stampin’ Up!’s True Love Designer Series Paper. I accept that this AMAZING Designer Series Paper will no longer be available on June 30 or when supplies run out. I have REALLY, REALLY loved working with the black-and-white pages of this pack of papers, so I wanted to give it one last run before it goes away for good. Here’s my 4-1/4″ square card that also serves as a send-off to this gorgeous paper:

Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Black-and-White. Two amazing Designer Series Paper create the classy layout on this card – I cropped a black-and-white trio of flowers (with a bonus bud) from the retiring True Love Designer Series Paper and positioned them over a black-and-white, striped panel from Pattern Party Designer Series Paper (available in Stampin’ Up!’s 2021 Annual Catalog).  Here’s a look at the patterns and colors in the True Love Designer Series Paper – if you don’t have an extra pack of this paper on-hand, please consider picking one up now:True Love Designer Series Paper, Stampin Up!, 154281If you’d like to see some of my other projects with the True Love Designer Series Paper, CLICK HERE. While there are some amazing stripes in the True Love pack above, I had a scrap of Pattern Party on my desk from the card I shared on Monday. That piece worked perfectly! • The Very Best. The long, slender sentiment on my card is exactly what I wanted for the card I was making – says what I want it to say and fits the design of my card. It also gives a proper send-off to the True Love Designer Series Paper. “I’m so happy I found you” could have also worked for the latter need. 🙂 The sentiment is from Friends are Like Seashells, a bundle in Stampin’ Up!’s January – June 2021 Mini Catalog that will also be available at the discounted price in the new catalog. • Color Combination. I was all set to give you a fully black-and-white card, but something tugged at me and convinced me to add another color to my project. At first, I thought I’d color the flowers but decided to leave them black-and-white. The thin sentiment and thin border were my chance to add color – the super-sweet Soft Sea Foam. If you like this mix of Basic White, Soft Sea Foam and Basic Black, I hope you’ll save this for future reference: Stampin Up! Color Inspiration - Basic White, Soft Sea Foam, Basic Black

  1. Your post made me chuckle today Brian – I will be so sad to see this paper go too (still not as much as my beloved stitched shapes frame lots though!) Your card is beautiful and I love the hint of calming green against the black and white – just lovely.
