Sweet Strawberry Thanks for FabFri216

When I started playing with the super-sweet colors for  the FabFriday color challenge (Flirty Flamingo, Granny Apple Green, So Saffron and Fresh Freesia), I knew I’d make sweet flowers with the Fresh Freesia, So Saffron and Granny Apple Green colors. I wasn’t sure how Flirty Flamingo would play into my project – until it took over and accepted a starring role. Here’s a my thank you car for the FabFriday challenge that goes live today:

Color Inspiration - Flirty Flamingo, Granny Apple Green, So Saffron, Fresh Freesia FabFri216I really wanted to play with the soft tones in this color combination – I hadn’t yet played with the sweet flowers in the Sweet Strawberry Bundle, so I just started making flowers and leaves. Such fun! Here’s a look at the Sweet Strawberry Bundle I used to create the flowers and leaves on this project:

Sweet Strawberry Bundle, Stampin Up! 156214I needed to incorporate Basic Black in my design to ground the soft colors (or they’d just float right off the page). The gorgeous “thanks” at the center of my card is from a new, super-fun stamp set in Stampin’ Up!’s 2021 Annual Catalog. Lighthearted Lines is a mix of funny and sweet sentiments for many occasions. I masked the sentiment from the set to isolate “thanks” for my card. Here’s a look at this stamp set:

I wanted a So Saffron center for my Fresh Freesia flowers, so I stamped the flowers with So Saffron on a scrap piece of Basic White cardstock. I used the largest circle on the Turtle Punch to crop out the center That little turtle circle is coming in handy! Here’s a a look at how I used the circle to crop the center of my flower:

Like I said above, I wasn’t sure how I’d use Flirty Flamingo (a frequently-used color of mine) on my card. I’ve showcased bold stripes several times this week (see here and here), so stripes were on my mind. I was bummed there are no Flirty Flamingo stripes UNTIL I remembered there are! Yay! The Flirty Flamingo stripes on my card are from the Pattern Party Designer Series Paper. Here’s a look at the colors and patterns in this incredible pack of papers:

Brian, the way you framed that sentiment is amazing, it totally grabs you, I love it, it’s sharp and elegant, the little flowers soften the edges of the black circle so very sweetly.
    Thank you for sharing.
    Stay healthy and safe.
    XO

  5. Wow, this is so sharp! Love how you used the flowers and leaves to make such a pretty card.
