Thankful for Thanksgiving

July 25, 2021 is a very special day! Today we begin the four-month countdown to my favorite holiday of the year – Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving, which falls on the fourth Thursday of November, is on November 25 this year. To kick off this special countdown, I’ve create a Thanksgiving card with a variety of products from Stampin’ Up!’s 2021 Annual Catalog and two from the July-December 2021 Mini Catalog that launches on August 3. Here’s my card:

Time of Giving, Forever Flourishing, Stampin Up!, Brian King, Thanksgiving cardTips, Tricks and Reminders

  • New (or Returning) Products. The papers, dies and embossing folder the create the foundation for my card are pulled from Stampin’ Up!’s 2021 Annual Catalog (more on those later). The sentiment and embellishments feature products that are new (or returning) from Stampin’ Up!’s July-December 2021 Mini Catalog. Here’s a look at the new Time of Giving Bundle that features the gorgeous (and simple) sentiment:Time of Giving Bundle, Stampin Up! 156762I used these dies on the card I shared with you on Thursday (if you missed it, you can see it here). I love this bundle! I added three Wonderful Gems (little clear gems with gold flecks inside) to add a little sparkle to this warm card. These Wonderful Gems were a favorite in last year’s Holiday Mini – so glad they are back this year! Here’s a look:Wonderful Gems, Stampin Up!, 153536That’s only two new (or returning) products! The rest of the items I used to make this card are from this year’s Annual Catalog. Here’s a list:
    • I used the Forever Flourishing Dies to crop the leaves at the heart of this card.
    • I cropped my sentiment with the Stitched Rectangles Dies, a favorite go-to in my craft room.
    • I embossed the panel of Early Espresso with the Bark 3D Embossing Folder, new in Stampin’ Up!’s 2021 Annual Catalog.
    • I included a panel of Neutrals 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper (Merry Merlot) behind the focal panel on the card for added color and design.
  • Layers. I love playing with elements on a card until I get what I want – the designing is always more fun for me than the construction. I played with many layers and several colors on my card until everything was just as I wanted it. Here are the measurements of the layers on my card, starting with the base and working my way up to the sentiment:
    • Soft Suede – 4-1/4″ x 11″ (scored at 5-1/2″)
    • Stampin’ Dimensionals
    • Early Espresso – 3-3/8″ x 4-5/8″
    • Merry Merlot – 3-1/4″ x 4-1/2″
    • Very Vanilla – 3-1/8″ x 4-3/8″
    • Neutrals 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper (Merry Merlot) – 3-1/8″ x 3″
    • Early Espresso – 3-3/4″ x 2-1/2″
    • Soft Suede and Merry Merlot – cropped with Forever Flourishing Dies
    • Stampin’ Dimensionals
    • Thick Very Vanilla – cropped with Stitched Rectangles Dies
  • Warm Tones. I love the rich colors and warm tones of Fall. I was so accustomed to seeing the Forever Flourishing Dies (VERY popular in last year’s catalog) cropped with gorgeous greens – I was excited to incorporate them into a different color motif.   Time of Giving, Forever Flourishing, Stampin Up!, Brian King, Thanksgiving cardIf you like this warm mix of Soft Suede, Early Espresso and Merry Merlot as much as I do, I hope you’ll save this for future reference:Stampin Up!
