It’s time for another Be Inspired Design Team Blog Hop – what fun! The Be Inspired Design Team is a group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators from all over the world who are excited to share our themed projects with you. I’m so honored to be a part of this group of talented stampers!
For today’s Be Inspired Blog Hop, we are sharing projects that showcase Designer Series Paper. This was not a difficult challenge for me – you must already know how much I love Stampin’ Up!’s Designer Series Papers! The colors and patterns give us a great start to a great project. We hope our projects inspire you and that you leave with lots of fun ideas! If you aren’t starting the hop here, then you probably just popped over from the amazing project shared by my talented, Canadian friend Carolynn Sander.
Holly Jolly Christmas with Pansy Petals
Our Designer Series Paper theme couldn’t be more timely. Stampin’ Up!’s Designer Series Paper Sale (nine papers are 15% off) ends on August 2, so it’s a good time to remind you about the papers you want to stock up on. August 2 is closer than you may think, so click on the image below to review the papers in my online store:
I often use a panel of Designer Series Paper as a background on a card, but I also love to cut the papers in fun ways and stamp or color on the papers to create my own designs. Here’s a Christmas card I made with some new products from Stampin’ Up!’s July-December 2021 Mini Catalog (live on August 3) and strips of a page of Pansy Petals Designer Series Paper in Stampin’ Up!’s 2021 Annual Catalog. Here’s my card:
I created the backdrop for my sentiment with 1/2″ strips of a striped pattern from the Pansy Petals Designer Series Paper. Here’s a look at all of the patterns and colors in this pack of papers:
The striped pattern I chose for this card features a mix of Soft Sea Foam, Soft Succulent and Evening Evergreen stripes. It was easy to transition this pattern to a Christmas card, but I had more fun by mixing the patterns in the 1/2″ strips. Here’s a closer look at the page I started with:
Here’s a closer look at the background after I reconstructed the striped paper in my own design:
I built my sentiment with two new bundles in Stampin’ Up!’s July-December 2021 Mini Catalog. Both are found on page 17 of the new Mini Catalog. The sentiment and pine branches are pulled from the Christmas to Remember Bundle:
The frame and stamped leaves/berries are pulled from the Christmas Season Bundle:
Here’s a another look at the sentiment and greenery I built behind it:
I’m so glad you stopped by today, and I hope you like the card I’ve shared. Not only did I have fun changing up the Designer Series Paper pattern, but it was exciting to turn this page from the Pansy Petals Designer Series Paper into a Christmas project.
My card is inspired by the sketch challenge at the Global Design Project this week. Here’s a look at that sketch:

Brilliant. Just brilliant! Trust you to take a DSP pack about as far from Christmas as possible and create an iconic holiday design. AND with the cleverly redesigned stripes. Love, Love, LOVE!
Marvelous how you turned one pattern into an entirely new one. Modern and cool!
After my eyes were able to focus again, I saw a beautiful Christmas card! Love the layering of the sentiment and the berries! So Festive!
This is a great Christmas card that is fun, festive, and a bit non-traditional. It’s very striking. Enjoy your day!
WOW my friend…….This card design with 1/2″ strips of Pansy Petals Designer Series Paper is a TOTAL show-stopper. TFS!
Love how you used the DSP for the background! Very striking!
How very clever of you to create a fun background that takes a paper and uses it for a totally different season! You do so well at showing us the many uses of Stampin’ Up’s papers. Well done!
The stripes! You are so clever! That is great Designer Paper and you make it even better!
