Bright Baubles for the InKing Royalty Blog Hop

Many of my Stampin’ Up! team members (not only those with blogs) share their gorgeous projects in our team’s Facebook community – there’s such amazing and inspiring creativity in this group! I’m always excited when my team’s blog hop rolls around, though, because I get to share some of their amazing work with you. I’m just as excited to see their projects as you are, and I am proud to share them with you.

InKing Royalty Blog Hop, Leaves & TreesWelcome to InKing Royalty’s August Blog Hop! During this year’s blog hops, we are having fun with our stamping favorites – our favorite themes for seasonal cards and projects. This month’s projects feature leaves and trees, so you are likely to find lots of inspiration for Autumn. We are excited to share our creations with you today! After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.

Bright Baubles

There are SO MANY great trees and leaves in Stampin’ UP!’s current offerings. It was hard to settle on one, but I was drawn to Bright Baubles for today’s blog hop. My tree-themed card features a Christmas ornament with a beautiful Christmas tree. I built this ornament with the Delicate Baubles Dies, part of the Bright Baubles Bundle (say that five times fast!) in Stampin’ Up!’s July-December 2021 Mini Catalog. Such a fun card to make! Here’s my card:

Here’s a look at the Bright Baubles Bundle (made up of the Bright Baubles Cling Stamp Set and Delicate Baubles Dies), which is filled with beautiful ornaments and some great sentiments for the Christmas holidays:

Bright Baubles Bundle, Stampin Up! 156384How gorgeous are those dies?! Here’s how I built the beautiful bauble on my card:

  • I applied a piece of Adhesive Sheets to the back of a piece of Thick Basic White cardstock and cropped with the thin die at the top, right corner of the product photo above.
  • I pealed the Adhesive Sheet off the back of the detailed die cut and adhered it to another piece of Thick Basic White cardstock. I layered the frame die (in the bottom, right corner of the product photo above) around the detailed die cut ornament and cropped it out. This was easier (in my opinion) than trying to glue the detailed cutout to the frame die cutout.
  • I cropped the ornament with Pool Party, Shaded Spruce, Mint Macaron and So Saffron cardstock and carefully glued the pieces into the cutout from the detailed die cut.
  • I cropped the bow and string from Shaded Spruce cardstock and glued it to the top of the ornament.

Here’s a closer look at the bauble at the heart of my card that’s described above:

I chose a soft, sweet color scheme for my ornament, so I was happy to find the Pool Party design in the Sweet Stockings Designer Series Paper that gave me a base for my sweet ornament. Here’s a look at the colors and patterns in the Sweet Stockings Designer Series Paper:

  14. Wowza! Simple, elegant, and stunning.

  15. I love this post for so many reasons. Great tip, I’ll have to try, to adhere then cut the shadow. Also, although the stamp case clearly shows the size, I really didn’t realize the ornament is as large as it is! The tree is a wowzer, and I love the colors you chose!

    • Thank you so much, Sheryl! The ornaments are really big, which is great if you want them to be the focal point on your card. 🙂 I, too, thought the design of this tree was pretty spectacular. Thanks! ♥

  16. Brian, this is such an amazing card!!! I love how you filled in the ornament with the colored cardstock! It has such a “touchable” look to it!!!
