Thank You with Nature’s Harvest

A wonderful customer messaged me over the weekend to ask if Stampin’ Up! has ever had any stamp sets that feature coneflowers. Ever the not-a-botanist, I turned to Google to find out what a coneflower looks like so I could hopefully point her to some retired coneflower stamp sets. My search for the this daisy-related flower resulted in a positive identification – and as my luck would have it, I quickly identified the flowers on page 56 of Stampin’ Up!’s July-December 2021 Mini Catalog as … you guessed it … coneflowers. Since I have the bundle featured there, I thought it would be fun to make this coneflower-centered card:

Nature's Harvest Bundle, Stampin Up!, Brian KingNow that you’ve been introduced to my coneflower card (I’m planning to say “coneflower” four more times in this post), I’d love to show you the Nature’s Harvest Bundle from Stampin’ Up!’s July-December 2021 Mini Catalog:

Nature's Harvest Bundle, Stampin Up! 156816I accented my coneflowers with a backdrop of two panels – one is Crumb Cake cardstock, and one is a gorgeous piece of Soft Succulent patterns from the Harvest Meadow Designer Series Paper. Here’s a look at the colors and patterns in this perfect-for-Fall pack of papers:

Harvest Meadow Designer Series Paper, Stampin Up! 156494These are gorgeous, understated pages, and I really like all of them, but I LOOOVE the design I used on this card.

The coneflowers on my card are stamped with Early Espresso ink on Thick Very Vanilla cardstock and cropped with the Harvest Dies. I colored the flowers with a mix of Light So Saffron and Light Pale Papaya Stampin’ Blends and capped them Light Soft Suede Stampin’ Blends. The stems of these coneflowers are colored with Light Soft Succulent Stampin’ Blends. I mounted them on a large So Saffron circle to beautifully showcase the flowers. Here’s a closer look:

Nature's Harvest Bundle, Stampin Up!, Brian KingI love the soft, warm colors on this card. I think the combination, paired with Very Vanilla and Early Espresso, is a beautiful color palette for Fall. If you like this mix of So Saffron, Crumb Cake and Soft Succulent as much as I do, I hope you’ll save this for future reference:

Coneflower. Earlier, I told you I was planning to use the term four more times in my post – and I only counted three, so that gets me all caught up. Yay!

    Brian,
Great card and beautiful color palette! And now you can also add “coneflower” to your “growing knowledge” of flowers!
    Have a wonderful day!

    • “Ever the not-a-botanist…” 🤣🤣 Thanks for the smile, Brian. Though not a botanist, you were kind to investigate the coneflower. Happy ending for your costumer, and appreciation for all you are from the rest of us.

  2. Well, thank you for this information ! I thought they were daisies ! I had a mother that was a flower wizard and I do not think I ever heard her mention Coneflower ! You did it proud with your pretty card !
    Very interesting !

  3. Son of a gun Brian – we have some of those flowers growing next to our deck. Evidently they are a form of wildflower because we planted wild flower seeds there. Now I know what they are called. I always thought they were messed up daisies! LOL Love the card and learning something new. LOL

  4. Love this set! Such a pretty card for fall!

  5. I didn’t know it was a coneflower either. I love how you featured it on your card. It is a beautiful color combination that perfectly compliments the coneflower. I love it!

  6. Awesome card! Akways a wonferful layout!

  7. Brian, this card is soft and sweet. If my memory serves me correctly, I think butterflies adore coneflowers…I think I remember sitting by a lake years ago watching many of them flying from flower to flower, as I took pictures. Anyway, just a lovely card today!

  8. Love the color combination on the pretty card, Brian. As I walk in my neighborhood, I see these flowers in all different colors.

  9. Great design and colour palette Brian. Love the coneflowers!
