Offering Great Tidings for Christmas

The live Nativity at my hometown church always included my two brothers and me as the three kings (it just made sense for the King boys to portray the three kings who came to the Nativity to offer gold, frankincense and myrrh. As such, I am always drawn to Stampin’ Up!’s stamp sets that include the three kings. I showcased the Great Tidings Bundle on today’s brown Christmas card. Here’s my card:

The Great Tidings Bundle includes the Great Tidings stamp set and the coordinating Wise Men Tidings Dies. Here’s a look at this wonderful, new stamp stamp set and coordinating dies:

Great Tidings Bundle, Stampin Up! 156382How gorgeous are these images and sentiments. Despite the beautiful saying in the Great Tidings stamp set, I really wanted to use the “glory to the newborn king” sentiment on my card. This sentiment is from the For Unto Us stamp set, which is a “returning fave” in this year’s Holiday Mini. Here’s a look at this stamp set:

For Unto Us, Stampin Up! 153335There’s a star in the Great Tidings stamp set, too, but I created a larger star with my Starlit Punch – I punched the star from Crumb Cake cardstock and painted it with my Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush to give it a soft shimmer – here’s a closer look:

Stars are Shining Bundle, Stampin Up!, 156780We think of Christmas cards as green and red (traditional Christmas colors) or as blue and white (snowy skies), but this card is SOOOO brown. I have a beautiful Nativity set that Mom made for me years ago (it’s a ceramic set that looks like it’s made of wood) – that set inspired this neutral-toned card.
