Gratitude with Gorgeous Leaves

Fall is in the air in Atlanta. The crisp, cool air makes me so happy – even if that means my outside time will soon be spent raking leaves. I used the Gorgeous Leaves Bundle to build a beautiful trio of leaves on a card of gratitude. Here’s the card I’ve made to share with you today:

There are some really great dies in the Intricate Leaves Dies, part of the Gorgeous Leaves Bundle. While I’ve showcased one of the leaves in a prior project, I wanted to embrace the beautiful images in the Gorgeous Leaves stamp set for this project. Here’s a look at the Gorgeous Leaves Bundle:

Gorgeous Leaves Bundle, Stampin Up! 158609If you love gorgeous sentiments as much as I do, then you are likely asking, “where can I find that impossibly beautiful sentiment, Brian?” I agree with you – it’s so, so, so gorgeous. The single word is pulled from a two-word stamp in the Christmas-themed Heartfelt Wishes stamp set, new in Stampin’ Up!’s July-December 2021 Mini Catalog. The full sentiment is lovely, but it is longer than I wanted for this card layout, so I decided to isolate the single word. I pressed a piece of tape over “much,” inked the stamp, removed the tape and then stamped it down to isolate the singe word I wanted. Here’s a look at this stamp set:

Heartfelt Wishes, Stampin Up! 156541The 2″ band that extends across the center of my card and serves as the base for my leaves is Basic White (like the panel below it), but I stamped it with the water spots from the Gorgeous Leaves stamp set before gluing it down. You could achieve the same effect by masking a piece of cardstock and stamping the band in the middle, but this was easier and cleaner.

Things look good in threes. I carefully placed these three Cajun Craze leaves along the band on this card to point in different directions and balance each other out. I also wanted to give space at the base of the focal panel for my sentiment. I added three Wonderful Gems to the card for a little extra texture – these are a great all-season accent – I love the gold sparkle inside these tiny gems.

  3. I love this card Brian. I think the Gorgeous Leaves bundle is outstanding. SU has given us many leaf stamps but these matching dies really make it the most beautiful stamp set I’ve ever purchased from SU. It isn’t just for fall either. I think cards for any season would be enhanced with these images and dies. Great card and Happy World Card Making day.
