An Autumn Thank You with Nature’s Harvest

Have you studied the Harvest Meadow Suite of products in Stampin’ Up!’s July-December 2021 Mini Catalog? If you have, then you will recognize several items in the card I’m sharing with you today. I thoroughly enjoyed working with these Fall-themed products to make this sweet card:

Nature's Harvest Bundle, Stampin Up!, Brian King, Fall thank you cardMy card is inspired by the last card on page 54 of the July-December 2021 Mini Catalog. While the Stampin’ Up! artist who made this card watercolored the background on the flowers they cropped out the images, I took a slightly different approach. Using the watercolor stamp in the Nature’s Harvest stamp set, I built the textured backdrop for my flowers.

On this piece of Thick Basic White cardstock, I stamped the watercolor “splotch” over and over with Calypso Coral, first stamping off on a piece of scrap paper to build a light layer of splotches. Then, I randomly added fully-inked splotched to the pattern to create a beautiful pattern that looks like this:

I then cropped my flower with the Harvest Dies, also part of this bundle. I did the same with Bumblebee Ink for the image behind the Calypso Coral flower. Here’s a closer look at the finished product:

This paper is NOT corkboard thick – it’s a super-thin piece that’s perfect for your card making or scrapbooking. If you look carefully at the picture above, you can see the added layer of Misty Moonlight cardstock I added behind the cork layer so I could pop it up with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I really loved working with this paper and couldn’t be happier with the natural look. Here’s a look at the Cork 12″ x 12″ Specialty Designer Series Paper:

  1. You are an amazing splotcher! This is gorgeous….love how it turned out!

  2. Pretty technique you did there ! Plus ME TOO on the Cork Paper ! I plan to get more because it is perfect for woodsy looks ,guy cards ,etc. Plus it is thin like DSP which makes it easy to die cut or punch . And I like the mix of patterns in the Harvest Meadow DSP and great colors .

  4. I agree with all the above! When I first looked at your card, I was wondering where you found the great paper to cut your die cuts from. Little did I know you created it! Here’s hoping this set makes the cut, and sticks around next year. Love your card and the color combo. Thanks for another brilliant addition .
