DAY ONE: 2021 Holiday One-for-One Card Swap

Today’s the day! Over the past several weeks, I’ve been running to my mail box to collect the GORGEOUS cards you’ve sent for my 2021 Holiday One-for-One Card Swap. Today I have the pleasure of sharing some of them with you. Yay! In a series of several posts over the next couple of weeks, I will share each of these beautiful cards with everyone. There’s so much wonderful inspiration to share!

15 Holiday Swap Cards, Stampin Up!, hosted by Brian King

I love these swaps because they showcase beautiful projects from card makers at ALL SKILL LEVELS – some are brand new to the craft, and others have been creating for years. Please look them over, admire their beauty and then let the creators know how beautiful their cards are (I already know you’ll be kind with your comments, but I am going to request it, anyway).

If you participated in the swap and don’t see the card you received here, please wait to comment about that card when it shows up on my blog – that way, the creator of that card will be sure to see your comments.

The collection of cards I’m sharing today might not all have current Stampin’ Up! products, but every card gives great ideas for color combinations, layouts, techniques – every project is sure to inspire you. Without any further ado, here is the first batch of your beautiful cards:

I’m so very happy to say that, Saturday I received my gorgeous card created by Angie Lisk, I love it, love it!!! The soft colors on the DSP and wreaths plus the twine bow and sentiment, give up a warm and peaceful feeling that is absolutely delightful.
Thank you so much, Angie, yours is the first card I received this month and it’s proudly displayed on the mantel above the fireplace.
I want to add that, the rest of the cards on this are simply beautiful and so inspirational, thank you all for sharing and participating.
    Please, stay healthy and safe.

    • Maria, I appreciate your kind words about my card. It is always so much fun creating a card for Brian’s one-for-one swap and then anticipating what card will arrive. There’s so much inspiration so far in Day One and Day Two cards, I can’t wait to see the rest! Brian, I am so thankful for you and the time you take hosting the swap. Best wishes everyone!

  10. Well Brian – I’m sorry to say that I CANNOT pick a favorite. Every one of these cards shows so much talent, each in it’s own way. I love seeing what stampers from all over the country are doing and you make that possible with your exchange. Thank you Brian and thank you to each participant. Please know that your talents are very much appreciated and enjoyed!

  11. What a wonderful parade of beautiful, creative, and inspiring cards today. Thanks to all the cardmakers for their participation and to Brian for hosting this swap. I can’t wait to see what others have made in the days to come. Enjoy your day!

  15. Yay!! The parade has begun! I love seeing everyone’s cards and they’re all so lovely! What a creative bunch, thanks to all and to you, Brian. 😃

  16. The picture doesn’t do it justice. The gold sparkly poinsettias float on a white background. The pink Happy (which also sparkles) so beautifully contracts with the gold. It almost looks like a hard candy in the center. Needless to say, I really enjoyed receiving Kim Mettelmann’s card. It is stunning.
Thank you, Brian for putting this together for us! I look forward to seeing all the submissions. Happy Holidays!

  17. Thank you for hosting this annual swap! Lots of work for you, taking nice photos of each card and mailing them out. So much inspiration! Terrific first batch of cards, can’t wait to see the rest!

    Love you Brian!!!

  22. Lovely cards!!!

  23. I received Debby Landau’s card. How elegant it is! The color choice is beautiful. Thank you so much.

    • Thanks Kathy–I don’t make lots of cards, but I always enjoy swaps with Brian’s followers.

    • PATRICE SCANLON

Would love to know the DSP you used for the card you made with the oars. My son rowed crew through high school and the colors you used are his school’s colors. I would love to CASE your card for him! Many thanks!
      Patrice Scanlon

      • Sorry for the delay. I just received your email today, June 29. The DSP that was used was from Stampin Up’s True Gentleman paper pack. I believe it has been retired but you could probably find something similar.

  24. I got Laura Hughes’s beautiful navy card! It made my day to rip open that envelope!

  25. What a great way to start the week! I was blessed to receive Mio Sakanishi’s beautiful card! This was my first opportunity to experience the “Give It a Whirl” set of dies — what fun to dial through all the cute dogs & cats on her card! The special details that she added to the front of her card — from the gold cord to the cherry cobbler ribbon to the embossed sentiment to the stitched stars scattered across the card — all combined to create an amazing Christmas card that anyone would be glad to receive 🙂 Thanks so much, Mio, for all the time, talent & effort that went into creating this card! Thanks, Brian, for hosting this event — it’s inspiring to see the beautiful cards & the variety of layouts, DSP, and embellishments used by all who participated — thanks so much for sharing your creativity!

  26. All the cards are beautiful but I really love the slit circle card. I copied it to make next year. My husband picked it up and said can you make me a bunch of these to send to my frinds. I just finished prepping 23 of them. Thanks so much for the idea.

  27. Suzanne Patt Cullen

    Dear Brian,

  28. Lots of great inspiration!

  29. I love the simplicity of these cards and how they speak volumes!

  30. Thank you Brian for hosing this event. It is fun to see all the inspiration. I received Deb’s card. Deb, it is so cute. It looks like real decorated cookies on there. I’d just like to grab one and eat it.
