Slimline cards have been all the rage for quite some time. The super-long and super-thin cards can be fun to make (and receive). In its January – June 2022 Mini Catalog, Stampin’ Up! has introduced us to a bundle with perfectly sized dies for a slimline card. While the card I’m sharing today uses elements of this kit, my card is a standard size. Here’s my card:
The gorgeous background dies on this card are created with the Slim Dies, and the sentiment is stamped with the Slim Sayings stamp set. Both of these products are sold separately or together as a part of a bundle (with a 10% savings). Here’s a look at the Slim Sayings Bundle:
I used the dies and sentiment on my card, but I didn’t make a slimline card. Here’s a look at some samples from Stampin’ Up!’s January – June 2022 Mini Catalog that showcase the slimline shapes:
Worried you might make these tall, slim cards and then have to make the coordinating envelope for each? Worry not! Page 53 of the catalog features a pack of 15 Slimline Envelopes (I’ve included a link in the product links below even though I didn’t use the envelopes in my project).
Before I cropped these quatrefoil shapes from the Blackberry Bliss cardstock with the Slim Dies, I added a panel of Adhesive Sheet to the back of my cardstock. That gave me the glue I needed layer these shapes to the Pool Party cardstock. Since I was cutting a smaller piece than the 8-1/4″ x 3-1/4″ die yields, I knew I would only have a section of the die cutout – but I didn’t realize these three strips would pop out individually. I simply glued them down, spacing them out on my Pool Party Panel.
I ran the die through my Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine again with Daffodil Delight cardstock and Pumpkin Pie cardstock to crop the shapes I pieced into my design. I stamped the sentiment on Polished Pink cardstock and then snipped them out – and then I covered most of my work on the design at the heart of the card (should have thought a bit more about that). 🙂
It’s rare that I share a color chart with five colors, but I love the combination of bright, soft and rich tones in this quatrefoil design. If you like this mix of Daffodil Delight, Polished Pink, Pool Party, Pumpkin Pie and Blackberry Bliss as much as I do, I hope you’ll save this for future reference:
