Introducing Stampin’ Up!’s 2022-2024 In Colors

This is a great time to be a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator! Not only were we able to download the 2022 Annual Catalog this week, but we have had the joy of hanging out with the new 2022-2024 In Colors. Demonstrators can order select products from the new catalog on April 1 – and the catalog goes live to customers on May 3.

Every year Stampin’ Up! introduces us to a set of five on-trend colors that will stick around for two years. It’s like Christmas for me – I love opening up that new catalog and searching for these colors. I love soaking them in and finding what color combinations make them most special. SO EXCITING!

I’m also able to share the new 2022-2024 In Colors with you today – and I’m excited to do it. I already know I’m going to love working with these new colors, and I’m certain you are going to love them, too! Here are Stampin’ Up!’s 2022-2025 In Colors:

Stampin Up! 2012-2014 In Colors - Parakeet Party, Tahitian Tide, Sweet Sorbet, Orchid Oasis, Starry Sky

Are you already in love with these colors?! I can’t wait to order my new supplies so I can put these gorgeous, new colors to use. The best way to show you how these colors fit into our current color families is to show you how they look right next to colors we already know. It might also help to show how they work with other colors you know and love. Here are my thoughts on each of these amazing, new colors and some comparisons to colors already in our color families:

PARAKEET PARTY

If you love your Stampin’ Up! greens as much as I love them, you are certain to fall in love with Parakeet Party – I’m already there! This new colors is a chameleon – it fits somewhere between a Bright and a Subtle. It’s soft but still a little electric. Here’s a look at Parakeet Party:

Stampin' Up! 2022-2024 In Color - Parakeet Party

It’s enlightening to see this new colors side-by-side with some of our favorite, current greens. As you can see below, Parakeet Party is brighter (and crisper) than Pear Pizzazz and considerably lighter than Granny Apple Green:

Stampin Up! Color Inspiration - Parakeet Party, Pear Pizzazz, Granny Apple GreenThree of our new In Colors are immediately familiar (they seem so similar to some past colors). Many immediately say Parakeet Party is a reinvention of Lemon Lime Twist – here’s a comparison of Lemon Lime Twist, Parakeet Party and Lucky Limeade (they are quite different, no?):

TAHITIAN TIDE

There’s nothing dark about Tahitian Tide – the sun is out, and the water is clear. That makes this new turquoise tone a classic beauty. Here’s a look at the new Tahitian Tide:

Stampin' Up! 2022-2024 In Color - Tahitian Tide

Tahitian Tide is bold and bright – and I bet it’s going to be a water coloring favorite. The mix of blues and greens is going to work so well with so many other tones. Love it! Here’s how Tahitian Tide compares with Balmy Blue and Pacific Point:

Stampin Up! Color Inspiration - Balmy Blue, Tahitian Tide, Pacific PointWhile many think Tahitian Tide is the reincarnation of Tempting Turquoise (I immediately thought the same), Tahitian Tide really has its own personality. Here’s a comparison of the new color with two retired blues to show how different they really are:

Stampin Up! Color Inspiration - Tempting Turquoise, Tahitian Tide, Marina MIstIf I had Tahitian Tide ink or cardstock right now, I’d combine it with Daffodil Delight and Polished Pink for bright-and-cheery combination. I can’t wait to play with this one!

SWEET SORBET

You can almost taste the tang in Sweet Sorbet – it’s bright, it’s rich and it’s so sweet your cheeks will hurt. This new pink is so fresh and so fun. Here’s a look at Sweet Sorbet:

“Brian, Do we need another bright pink or red in our color families?” A week ago, I’d certainly have told you we have all the bright pinks or reds we need. Today, my response would be different. It’s brighter than Real Red and more muted than Poppy Parade – a wonderful addition! Here’s how Sweet Sorbet compares with Real Red and Poppy Parade:

Stampin Up! Color Inspiration - Real Red, Sweet Sorbet, Poppy ParadeI heard comments about how Sweet Sorbet is so similar to Strawberry Slush – it’s definitely more red. Here’s how the new color compares with retired In Colors Strawberry Slush and Watermelon Wonder:

ORCHID OASIS

Orchid Oasis is another chameleon (and that’s a good thing!). Is it purple or blue? Is it bright or soft? I guess that all depends on what you pair it with. Here’s a look at the new Orchid Oasis:

Stampin' Up! 2022-2024 In Color - Orchid OasisTo show you just how this color balances between purple and blue, here’s how it looks between Gorgeous Grape and Pacific Point. If you hold your hand over Pacific Point circle, you’ll see the purple tones in the new color. If you hold your hand over the Gorgeous Grape circle, you might say it’s blue. No matter which, you’ll say it’s gorgeous! Here’s a comparison:

Stampin Up! Color Inspiration - Gorgeous Grape, Orchid Oasis, Pacific PointDon’t you think Orchid Oasis would look great with Petal Pink and Soft Succulent? Any combination of pink, green and blue/purple is wonderful (in my book), but I especially like how these colors play with one another:

STARRY SKY

Starry Sky, the last of the five new In Colors reminds me of … well … a starry sky. It’s right and beautiful. Like Orchid Oasis, it straddles the line between blue and purple. Starry Sky will soon be a favorite. Here’s a look at Starry Sky:

Stampin' Up! 2022-2024 In Color - Starry SkyWhat a great addition to our colors! To show the tones in the new Starry Sky, here’s how it compares with Misty Moonlight (soon to retire) and Night of Navy:

Stampin Up! Color Inspiration - Misty Moonlight, Starry Sky, Night of NavyI’m a little jazzed about a combination of Crushed Curry, Calypso Coral and Starry Sky, which pulls a Regal and Subtle together with this rich, new color. Here’s a look at this color combination:

WHAT DO YOU THINK?

How exciting are these new colors? What do you think of them? Do you already have a favorite? I hope you love them as much as I do. I can’t wait to roll my sleeves up and start creating with these new, amazing colors once I can get my hands on them.

Thanks for stopping by today!

  12. Fantastic comparisons and color combos

  13. Brian its hard for me to dislike any colors. Colors are fun to play with and give you variety! Looking forward to adding these to my inventory and watching all the creative demonstrators get excited. Without playing with them yet, my guess is Parakeet Party is my favorite.

  14. At first glance of the new In Colors, I thought they were too similar to previous colors and wasn’t too impressed. However, after seeing your comparisons, I like them all! You have such a keen eye for color combinations!

  15. Love what you have done to show the new colors compared to what we already have! What a great help! Thank you too for some color combinations, too!! Always so much fun to see these new colors and soon to be able to start using them! Thank you!!

  16. Brian, Thank you for the in color preview. Love the green!

  17. Hi Brian. Thanks for the comparison. Can you share the HEX codes of the new colors please? Thanks!

  18. I absolutely love your comparisons. I also thought that some of the colors were “almost like” past colors, but your charts prove me wrong. I really love them all and that Orchid Oasis reminds me of my favorite Crayola… periwinkle blue, except it’s a bit darker. Can’t wait to place my order and play! Thanks for sharing your great color swatches! Hugs, my friend.

  19. I want a count of those of us who really did hold up their hands against Pacific Point and Gorgeous Grape. Just because you told us to.
    LOL

  20. I am wondering why there are so many blues.???

  21. Great post. I really found your comparisons helpful! I’m excited about all of the new colors. I initially thought Sweet Sorbet might be similar to Melon Mambo; but Melon Mambo is cooler and pinker, I think.

  22. Brian, thank you for all of the information in today’s post! Wonderful inspiration! I think the soft succulent, orchid oasis and petal pink is going to be one of my favorite new color combos, or maybe that starry sky, crushed curry amd calypso coral…wait, I forgot the daffodil delight, polished pink and Tahitian tide combo! I just can’t decide! I really thought we’d see a new lighter yellow shade and maybe a new brown, but it will be fun to see the coordinating DSP’s.

    Happy Stampin!

  23. I print out and keep this information about the in-colors in a binder & use clear pocket pages to protect, so I can go back and look at these references, as well as other color combinations you share throughout the year. Helps a bunch when I go to pick colors for card making. Thank you for sharing this!!

  24. Is Parakeet Party very similar to the old, long-retired Gable Green? That’s a color I was very fond of.
