I was able to make an impromptu, weekend trip to visit Mom in South Carolina this past weekend. It was a quick visit, so I packed a change of clothes, toiletries and (of course) a Stampin’ Up! kit. With some down time on Sunday, Mom and I put together the collection of Christmas tags in the Love, Santa Tag Kit. This kit has been available for a while as a part of Stampin’ Up!’s Kit Collection, but I never realized how cute these tags are!
I’m going to share our finished projects (we followed the kit instructions very closely) and some tips for completing this fun kit. Let’s start, though, with the items that come in the kit:
The pre-printed elements in this kit are adorable and festive. The stamp set (shown in the top, right corner) is a great one! The kit is only $19 in the U.S. – the stamp set is worth every penny of that by itself. The other elements, Stampin’ Spot and cardboard box can be considered amazing bonuses. π Here’s a look at the photopolymer stamp set that came with the kit:
Cute, right?! I’m going to share our finished projects, but let me start with some tips for completing the kit:
TIP ONE: Before you start punching and stamping and assembling, read the instructions and study the stamp set (if you wish to switch out one of the sentiments or elements, you’ll wan to plan before you start stamping).
TIP TWO: Think ahead. If you wish to add the “to” and “from” stamp to the backs of these tags, stamp the words before you build up the front of the image. It will be more difficult to stamp on the back when the front has popped-up elements and rhinestones. Don’t ask me how I came to learn this. Here are the backs of the Christmas tree tags before the fronts were embellished:
STEP THREE: Hire a local helper to cut the baker’s twine that will be tied to each of the tags. The twine can be cut with the ruler provided in the instructions or along a piece of grid paper. This helper was very happy to precisely measure the twine for the tags.
TIP FOUR: It was super-easy to toss the kit into my travel bag – and I had nearly everything I needed. Thinking ahead, I grabbed glue, a couple of extra blocks and a full-sized Night of Navy ink pad. I didn’t grab my Take Your Pick Tool or tweezers. They would have come in handy for these little pieces, but I was able to complete the projects with the tools I had available.
TIP FIVE: Sometimes the woman you hire to cut the baker’s twine can double as a model for the finished tags. How cute is she?!
After a short time playing with the kit, Mom has twelve cute tags for her Christmas gifts. Here’s a look at the tags we completed with the Love, Santa Tag Kit:
Want a closer look at each? Happy to oblige…
Mom and I enjoyed putting together these tags, and I’ve enjoyed sharing them with you today. We both kept talking about how cute all of the tags are and how awesome the kit is – especially for just $19. Mom will be happy to add these tags to her holiday gifts this year.

What a beautiful model!!!!! She needs to be a permanent modeler.
Isn’t she?! Thanks, Bette! We had a lot of fun making these, and I lucked out on having a free model. β₯
Iβll have to get these tags done now! I bought the kit cause theyβre so cute, but never got them doneβ¦ I may not follow instructions, I think they might be super cute on a card front! Maybe a fancy fold one!
I know these could be made into some great cards and 3-D projects, but I didn’t have time to pack up everything in my craft room for the trip. π Glad you like them, Alaine!
Dear Brian,
How fun you and your mom got to put together the Christmas tag kit while visiting her for the weekend! I always love to βseeβ her. π And now she has tags already made up and can check that off her βto doβ list for Christmas β₯οΈππ
…or she has (at least) 12 gifts to purchase before Christmas. π It was fun – thanks for your sweet comment, Suzie! Hope you are having a grand time with your family.
Cute tags but your mom steals the show!
I couldn’t agree with you more, Mary! β₯
Thanks for highlighting this kit! Maybe Iβll order a kit and invite 3 friends over to make and take home one of each for adding to their Christmas gifts.
That’s such a fun idea, Stella! They are SO EASY to stamp and assemble – maybe you’ll be able to introduce some new friends to stamping. All the best! β₯
I absolutely love these tags Brian!!! Such a fun project that you and your Mom got to do together β€οΈ You have a beautiful Mom!!! I will definitely be ordering this kitπ
It’s really sweet, Cynthia – and only $19. Mom’s a great artist and has a wonderful sense of humor, so we get along wonderfully. Such fun!
Cute tag set ! I must say that your model just adds more cute to this kit presentation ! I think the tags could be used in many ways for craft projects for the holidays . Better put this on my next order !
The model/influencer really adds to the project, huh? π So glad you like it, Sonny! β₯ We had fun.
Very cute tagsβ¦and your helper is just adorable. Hi Mrs. King!
Isn’t she?! Thanks so much, Rene’!
You are such an awesome son! Hi Ms. Mary! So glad you two got to stamp together! π
Thank you so much, Windy! We had so many other things going on during the quick visit, but this was a highlight.
Your mom looks great! Glad you got to visit and yep the tags are adorable!
Thanks, my friend! She’s doing so well. We laughed a lot during our quick crafting session.
It’s always fun to see your beautiful mom crafting with you. The tags are so cute. Enjoy your day!
Thanks, Hilda! We really didn’t have to do too much to the tags to make them adorable and complete. Glad you like them. β₯
The Christmas tree tags are adorable. So is your mom model!
She was the least expensive model I could find in the area. π Thanks so much, Paula. We had fun with this quick, easy kit.
Your Mom is SO PRECIOUS……Love her fabulous modeling skills. The tags turned out GREAT.
They were fun to make – Mom said she didn’t remember posting with the tag, but she did so well with it. π Thanks so much, Kadie!
How fun for both of you! These tags make great cards too.
If we were at my house, we likely would have turned some of them into cards, but I didn’t have a chance to pack up my entire craft room (just in case) to make something other than the tags. She’ll use the tags, though. Thanks, Wendie!
A huge hi and a hug to Mary! It’s been 4 Evah since we have had the pleasure of
seeing her. Either you need to visit her more often or she needs to come and
spend a week with you more often.
The gift tags are awesome and I have totally skipped over that kit. What is
wrong with me to have missed it?
Thanks for sharing Brian and Mary looks fantastic!
Thanks for your sweet comments, Grace. Mom asks about you when we chat or get together, and I give her the updates. Happy to share her. β₯
βDonβt ask me how I came to learn this.β You are too funny!
π Happy to know you read through the tips – and happy to know you could infer the appropriate meaning behind this comment. You know.
Always love seeing photos of your mom. A fun project and one I had been on the fence about getting. Even better, the bags that are available!
I wish I’d grabbed a pack of bags when I grabbed the tags – they are adorable. This was a fun, simple kit. Thanks, Chris!
So nice to see you Mom again. Iβm sure you two had a great time together!
Sweet tags too!
We did, Sharon. Thanks so much! β₯
So great to see your mom again!! She is such a treasure!! I love this kit! I have several already made up for Christmas this year!!
They were simple and fun – so glad you like the kit, Sharon. It was fun to hang out with Mom and to share these behind-the-scenes pictures. β₯
Almost as good as a video! Just seeing her puts a smile on my face!
Miss Mary the secret influencer………love it!
