While an adorable, out-of-state friend is recovering from a knee surgery, I knew I couldn’t take something over or help with transportation during her recovery. What I could to, though, is wish her a speedy recovery with a sweet card. I went straight to The Fungeon and designed this card for her:
The warm colors on this card make me so happy – these “oranges” work so well together and are complemented by the Crumb Cake accents. It’s the Painted Posies 3D Embossing Folder, though, that really steals the show here. The beautiful, intricate images extend over the two panels – I love this folder. Here’s a look at the Painted Posies 3D Embossing Folder:
The sentiment is stamped from the A Fish & A Wish stamp set and cropped with the Double Oval Punch. I wrapped the Calypso Coral band (doubled-up so it would hold up in the mail) with Linen Thread for a third element with a natural finish (the base, the sentiment and the thread). I tied off the thread on the face of the card (just under the sentiment so that the strands come together at the well-wishing sentiment.
Just one more layer…I had finished this card with just an outside layer of Calypso Coral but knew I needed a touch of white somewhere on the card. I thought about a white sentiment oval but, ultimately, decided to add a thin border of white around the focal base, followed by a Calypso Coral border. That little pop of white gave me exactly what I wanted to lighten things up a bit.
I love this mix of “oranges” – Pale Papaya, Calypso Coral and Cajun Craze is a combination I’ve used before (and will definitely use again). If you like this mix of Pale Papaya, Calypso Coral and Cajun Craze as much as I do, I hope you’ll save this for future reference:
