A Fall Hello with Happy Forest Friends

When Emma first suggested we design “no-stamping” projects for our next Super-Awesome Fun Time Card Kit, I was skeptical. How fun could these projects be? As I’ve been designing the projects, though, I’ve had loads of fun with the concept. I’ve enjoyed it so much that I made a no-stamping project to share with you today – lots of layers of gorgeous cardstock and Designer Series Paper but no stamping. Here’s my card:

How sweet is this bear?! If I ran across this guy in the woods, I’d definitely feel honored that he waved to me. I’d offer him a cup of tea, and we’d chat for hours on end. I cropped this bear from one of the pages in the Happy Forest Friends Designer Series Paper using a Stitched Rectangles Die – the leaves, the trees, the bear and the butterfly all come from one design in the paper. Here’s a look at the colors and patterns in the Happy Forest Friends Designer Series Paper:

The 1/2″ So Saffron strips in the background are pulled from the other side of that same page of paper. Oh! But I didn’t stop there! I also snipped a tree from that page of paper and glued it inside the card with a fun sentiment that celebrates the waving bear. Here’s a look at the inside of my card:

The happy “HEY” inside the card is an extension of the waving bear on the outside. I heat embossed this sentiment from Amazing Phrasing with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and cropped it with one of the Stitched Rectangles Dies.

Amazing Phrasing is a super-fun photopolymer stamp set that’s available with a $100 order during Sale-a-Bration in July and August. Here’s a look at this amazing stamp set:

Amazing Phrasing, Stampin Up!, Sale-a-Bration, 159930I love the warm colors in this pack of papers. The pieces I chose feature a lot of the beautiful browns and yellows in the paper. If you like this mix of Sahara Sand, So Saffron and Soft Suede as much as I do, I hope you’ll save this for future reference:

  5. Hey! He is is cute! I like how you did the strips of DSP behind.

  6. Yup, the bear is cute, but THE LAYERING!! As always, that’s what slays me. Clever use of that particular sheet of DSP. “Scene sheets”are not always the easiest to manipulate. Great job!!
(Oh, and you rocked the inside…!)
