Paper Pumpkin Alternatives – Sending Good Thoughts

I hosted my monthly Zoom call with my Paper Pumpkin customers yesterday. During our Pumpkin in the Fungeon call, I share some fun ideas with the items included in the monthly kit, and my customers share their brilliant ideas. It’s always such fun to see what others are making and to spend that time with my customers who participate. I love this time to connect with my customers.

Pumpkin in the Fungeon, Brian KingToday I’m sharing some alternative projects with this last month’s Sending Good Thoughts kit – a mix of cards themed around the boats, oceans and messages in a bottle. There are so many wonderful elements to this kit – they can be used to create the cards (as designed) or any number of other projects. Here’s a look at the finished projects from the July 2022 Paper Pumpkin kit:

July 2022 Paper Pumpkin - Sending Good ThoughtsI really love the unexpected colors in this kit – Bermuda Bay, Poppy Parade and Fresh Freesia work so well together. I love the combination!

Alternative Projects

I designed five projects to share with my customers during our Pumpkin in the Fungeon call – I’m sharing three of them with you today. What fun!

Here’s a look at three of my alternative projects with this kit:

Just a Note

Stampin’ Up!’s July-December Mini Catalog introduces us to Envelope Treat Boxes (page 13 of the new catalog). Each 2-1/4″ x 3-1/2″ x 1″ box folds like a envelope and is perfectly sized for a gift card or a wad of cash. The boxes are food-safe, too, so little treats can also be tucked inside. I decorated the top of one of these treat boxes with elements from the July 2022 kit to make this:

I cropped one of the texture-embossed panels with a circle die and added a little message (from the stamp set in the kit) to a bottle). “Just a note” was pulled from the Fond of Autumn stamp set (in the July-December mini catalog). I used the pre-assembled box to make a pattern with one of the Bermuda Bay card bases. I added three Coastal Cabana sequins from the Adhesive-Backed Sequins & Gems (page 19 in the July-December Mini Catalog).

A Sea of Thanks

I love the texture-embossed pieces that come in this kit. I mounted this Pacific Point panel on a Pacific Point card base. I cropped a circle with the Stylish Shapes Dies in a piece of 4-1/2″ x 3-1/4″ Thick White cardstock, giving me an aquarium look. I added the coral inside the circle and then two fish from the A Fish & A Wish stamp set outside – I guess there are no limits to this aquarium. Here’s a closer look:

A Fish & A Wish Bundle, Stampin Up!, 159001The sentiment on my card also comes from this stamp set. You’ve gotta love when products you already have coordinate so well with a project you are making.

Sending Cheer

The kit features bottles for each of the designs, and I couldn’t help but to pull in the Bottled Happiness stamp set to accent the largest bottle in the kit.

I stamped the bottle label from the stamp set on the punched-out bottle and stamped the sentiment on Thick White cardstock and cropped it with a Layering Circle Die. Behind the bottle and sentiment, I layered coral, a sea star and a banner (turned upside down to show the white side). I added three Opal Rounds for the look of bubbles. Here’s a closer look a this card:
