Endlessly Grateful with Rustic Harvest Designer Series Paper

While I wasn’t initially in love with the Rustic Harvest Designer Series Paper, it has really grown on me. Many of my customers have shared projects they are making with this paper, and it has shifted my perception of the paper from “like” to “love.” Yay! Today I’m sharing a simple card that pairs two of the black-and-white patterns in the Rustic Harvest Designer Series Paper. Here’s my card:

Very Best Occasions, Rustic Harvest Deisgner Series Paper, Stampin Up!, Brian King, thank you cardI love to alter Designer Series Papers with stamps or markers, so I tried coloring the thin stripes on the background panel of my card. After carefully painting the thin stripes with a Crushed Curry Stampin’ Write Marker, I decided to preserve the original black-and-white pattern in the background. Not only does the black-and-white pattern look great with the black-and-white pattern on top of it, the Crushed Curry leaf really pops against all the black and white patterns behind it.

Both of these panels are pulled from the Rustic Harvest Designer Series Paper. Here’s a look at the colors and patterns in this “now love it” pack of papers:

I love the variety of sayings (and fonts!) in this set that can be used throughout the year. Here’s a look at this must-have stamp set, which is sold alone or as a part of the Very Best Occasions Bundle:

Very Best Occasions Bundle, Stampin Up! 159879The leaf on my card is a gorgeous one with amazing detail from the Ranunculus Dies in Stampin’ Up!’s 2022 Annual Catalog. While the dies coordinate with the Ranuculus Romance stamp set, I didn’t need the stamp set to showcase this beautiful leaf. Here’s a closer look:

The black panel of Designer Series Paper with the white leaves is popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals. To give it additional support when popped up, I glued it to another panel of 3-1/4″ x 4-1/2″ Basic White cardstock. Without that additional layer, I worry the Designer Series Paper would bend or wrinkle in the mail. Do you do the same?

Crushed Curry is a gorgeous yellow for Fall – and it looks so great with Basic White and Basic Black. If you like this simple combination as much as I do, I hope you’ll save this for future reference:

  3. Pretty card, but did you mean “shifted” instead of “shitted” ?

  4. Yep Robin ,I am sure he did not proof read this !!! Wow ! Giggle !!!!
I will agree I was not thrilled with this DSP after I got it . Too dark or something ,but
I think as I start to work with it I will .
Great cards and thanks for a Tuesday morning laugh !!!!!

  5. I meant Card ! See how you Discombobulated me with your S word !!

  6. I don’t pull black/white designs very often, but the yellow leaf pulls it together in a very nice card with a sweet sentiment. Enjoy your day!

  7. Oh, Brian. Your oops was an original with me. I always tried to carefully proofread my work and others’ when I was still employed and hope I never missed an awkward or embarrassing mistake. When I worked with a county agency that held hearings on matters of importance to towns, cities, and villages, we had to be especially careful with the word “public.”

Love your card, though. I am a fiend for leaves.

  8. Great pop of color with the Crushed Curry!

  9. Sweet pop of yellow with the b/w!
