Begin with a Dream & Stepping Stones

Have you ever purchased a stamp set you love it but haven’t yet found a way to use it? Of course you have. I’m making my way through some of the sets I have purchased over the last several months but haven’t yet inked up. Today’s card showcases two stamps I love, love, love – the Begin with a Dream Host set and the Stepping Stones stamp set. Further, my simple card showcases the stamp I love most from each stamp set. Here’s my card:

Stepping Stones, Begin with a Dream, Stampin Up!, Brian King

How gorgeous is that sentiment?! I love the font, I love the saying, and I love the source. What a powerful (and true) statement! The Stepping Stones set is filled with gorgeous, uplifting sentiments from a variety of inspiring people. Here’s a closer look at Stepping Stones:

These sayings are perfect for the nudge some people need and the thumbs up for others. What a collection. As many times as you might read through the names of the people quoted, please know that the last saying is NOT a quote from Samuel L. Jackson. 🙂  It’s from Samuel Johnson who compiled A Dictionary of the English Language.

Behind the sentiment on my card, I stamped several rows of the hand-in-hand persons from the Begin with a Dream stamp set. I repeatedly stamped these people with Parakeet Party ink on a patterned piece of Parakeet Party Designer Series Paper. They are a bit faint (by design), but they are there. Here’s a closer look:

And here’s a look at the Begin with a Dream Host stamp set:

Begin with a Dream, Stampin Up! 159143As a Host Stamp Set, this set can be selected with $13 of Stampin’ Rewards (that begin to accrue on orders over $150 or with combined orders). If you’d like to see the other items available with Stampin’ Rewards, be sure to reference the back pages of your current catalogs (page 179 in the Annual Catalog and page 86 in the January-December Mini Catalog).

Before you go away, please scroll to the bottom of this post and leave a comment to congratulate me on adding ribbon and tying such a perfect, little bow. 🙂 I added a piece of Soft Sea Foam 3/8″ Seam Binding Ribbon – while it’s not perfectly paired with the Parakeet Party background, it perfectly coordinates.

My card features three popular colors from three of Stampin’ Up!’s color families – Subtles, Neutrals and Brights (Parakeet Party is actually an In Color, but it would be a Bright if it were in a color family). If you like this mix of Parakeet Party, Balmy Blue and Basic Gray as much as I do, I hope you’ll save this for future reference:
