Yesterday I shared eight fun treat boxes I made with the Mini Cracker & Treat Box Dies for the InKing Royalty Blog Hop. If you missed this post, you can see them all here. Today I’m going to share a few more tips and a closer look at the accents on these dies.
Here’s a quick rundown on the products I showcased yesterday from these treat boxes:
- Mini Cracker & Treat Box Dies
- Black & White Designs Designer Series Paper
- Celebrate Everything Host Designer Series Paper.
While these papers and dies are not Halloween-themed, the bundle I used to build the little tags on my treat boxes are. Here’s a look at the Scary Cute Bundle, made up of the Scary Cute stamp set and Scary Silhouettes Dies:
This is SUCH A GREAT bundle for Halloween – the silhouettes of the sweet trick-or-treaters are adorable (there’s a sweet variety of costumes in the line-up), but the sentiments in the stamp set are priceless. The dies in the coordinating Scary Silhouettes Dies are really wonderful, too! The haunted house, spooky cat and bats are specific to Halloween, but the frame is versatile to be used throughout the year.
With a Stylish Shapes circle base cropped from Smoky Slate cardstock, I created two little scenes for my cracker treat boxes. Here’s a closer look at each, along with some details about each:
Cat Boo!
The treat boxes cropped with the Black and White Designs Designer Series Paper are adorned with a spooky cat from the Scary Silhouettes Dies. The cat is centered on the circle and accented with a “BOO” on Pumpkin Pie cardstock. There are two “boo’s” in the stamp set – a small, stand-alone “Boo!” and a larger “BOO” in the middle of a sentiment. I used the larger “boo” and hand-snipped each word. So simple, so easy. Here’s a closer look at one of these tags:
House Boo!
The treat boxes cropped with the Celebrate Everything Designer Series Paper are adorned with a spooky house (positioned slightly to the right of the circle) and a “BOO.” To coordinate with the pops of Crushed Curry in the Celebrate Everything Designer Series Paper, I made the “BOO” on these treats with Crushed Curry cardstock. Just like the Cat Tag, I added a thin strip of Basic Gray cardstock to each tag to “ground” the image and extend beyond the circle. Here’s a closer look at these tags:
Black, gray, orange and yellow are great colors for Halloween. Here are two combinations I love from the simple tags I showcase above. If you like these combinations as much as I do, I hope you’ll save these for future reference:
