Paper Pumpkin Alternatives – Ho Ho Ho

I hosted my monthly Zoom call with my Paper Pumpkin customers over the weekend. During our Pumpkin in the Fungeon call, I share some fun ideas with the items included in the monthly kit, and my customers share their brilliant ideas. It’s always such fun to see what others are making and to spend that time with my customers who participate. I love this time to connect with them.

Pumpkin in the Fungeon, Brian KingToday I’m sharing some alternative projects with this last month’s Ho Ho Ho kit – an adorable collection of beautiful and fun Christmas cards. There are so many wonderful elements to this month’s kit – and I had fun with these projects. Before I share my alternatives, here’s a look at the finished projects (as designed) from the October 2022 Paper Pumpkin kit:

Aren’t these adorable?! Here’s a look at all the goodies that came in this kit:

Alternative Projects

As always, I designed a handful of projects to share with my customers during our Pumpkin in the Fungeon call – I’m sharing three of them with you today.

Here’s a look at three of my alternative projects with this kit:

Ho Ho Ho Paper Pumpkin Alternatives, October 2022, Stampin Up!, Brian KingNow for a closer look at each of these projects.

Merry Christmas

Stampin’ Up! has offered embossing paste for many years – and I’ve never cracked into it. That ended last week when I knew the die-cut backgrounds would make an amazing stencil for my embossing paste. I placed the die-cut panel over a piece of Poppy Parade cardstock, globbed some paste over it and rubbed it in with a spatula. When I lifted the stencil from the cardstock, I was in love! Such a beautiful, lifted effect! Here’s my card:

Ho Ho Ho Paper Pumpkin Alternatives, October 2022, Stampin Up!, Brian KingI framed the Poppy Parade panel with Thick Basic White and then layered Crumb Cake under it. All of that is on an Early Espresso card base. How cute is this Santa?! He’s very merry, isn’t he?!

JOY

I knew I wanted to showcase the Cherry Cobbler letters that spell JOY but had to find the right way to use them. I layered the letters over several panels from the kit (including banners, background pieces and a strip from a card base) to make this tag: Ho Ho Ho Paper Pumpkin Alternatives, October 2022, Stampin Up!, Brian KingThe tag is stapled to a North Pole Sack, an add-on with this month’s Paper Pumpkin. Ho Ho Ho

When I first saw the long, slender Crumb Cake panel of cutout designs in this kit, I knew I wanted to make a card perfect for a check, gift card or cash. Who doesn’t love that?! The front of my card, which measures 5-1/2″ x 3-1/4″, features a fun collection of elements from the kit:

Ho Ho Ho Paper Pumpkin Alternatives, October 2022, Stampin Up!, Brian KingThe inside has a little pocket (I used Tear and Tape adhesive to secure the flap) for a note and additional surprise. I stamped a little card for the inside:

Colors in this Kit

There are some really fun colors in this Ho Ho Ho Paper Pumpkin Kit – some are traditional colors for Christmas, and some are less expected. All are beautiful. Here’s a look at the colors from this kit:
