You Are Amazing (with Lots of Shine)

Years ago I would have barely allowed glimmer paper to enter the Fungeon (that’s the name I’ve given my stamping basement because it’s part dungeon and all fun). Glimmer paper was messy because it shed all over everything. Things have changed! The new glimmer papers from Stampin’ Up! are welcomed to play in the Fungeon – and I have a Paper Trimmer set aside just for cutting glimmer paper. My, how things have changed!

Today’s card features three glimmer papers from Stampin’ Up!’s July-December 2022 Mini Catalog – Evening Evergreen, Gold and Very Vanilla – that are sold as a part of the Lights Aglow Suite. Here’s a card I made for a special friend who’s totally amazing:

Amazing Thanks Dies, Stampin Up!, Brian King, glimmer paper

Can you spot all three of the glimmer papers on this card? The Glimmer 12″ x 12″ Specialty Paper doesn’t shed and isn’t messy at all, so I was happy to cut into it for this sweet card. Here’s a closer look at all of the shiny elements on this card:

Amazing Thanks Dies, Stampin Up!, Brian King, glimmer paperThe sentiment is cropped from the Evening Evergreen glimmer paper (using the Amazing Thanks Dies), the heart is cropped from the Gold glimmer paper (using the Celebrations Tag Dies), and the base of the card is covered with a strip of Very Vanilla glimmer paper. What fun! Here’s a look at the Glimmer 12″ x 12″ Specialty Paper (which is currently on backorder with more scheduled to be in stock next week):

Amazing Thanks Dies, Stampin Up! 157816If you have ever tried to glue something on glimmer paper, you might have noticed it’s hard to stick to the glitter (although it’s easier with the less messy glimmer paper.) Here’s a fun tip that helps – I punched a strip into the middle of my Vanilla panel with an old punch and then glued the Vanilla glimmer paper to the base. I added Stampin’ Dimensionals to the Evening Evergreen cardstock below and then adhered my focal panel to the Stampin’ Dimensionals. Here’s a look:

How to add a sentiment to glimmer paper, Amazing Thanks Dies, Stampin Up!, Brian King, glimmer paperHow fun is that?! Is there a better way to let someone know how amazing they are than to say it in big, bold, glittery letters?
