An Unlikely Pairing – Peace to You & Waves of the Ocean

When Stampin’ Up! loaded lots and lots of products into the Clearance Rack on Thursday, I was stunned by the volume (so many great products) AND the discounts (everything is so inexpensive!). I was excited to see the Waves of the Ocean Designer Series Paper in the offering – I loved this limited-time release and was sad when it was discontinued. I sent the “leftovers” of my paper to a customer who missed out on ordering a pack – except for one piece that I managed to add to this card today. Here’s the unlikely pairing of the Wintry Peace to You with the Summery Waves of the Ocean:

Peace to You, Waves of the Ocean Designer Series Paper, Stampin Up!, Brian KingThe Peace to You stamp set has been very popular with my customers this year, and it’s easy to see why. I love the modern look of these classic images – it’s a stamp set anyone would love. Here’s a look at the soon-to-retire stamp set (it’s available while supplies last):

Peace to You, Stampin Up! 159776The ink is picked up on the “negative” space for each stamp – the ink fills the sky and leaves the focal images without ink. I stamped my scene with Versamark on Night of Navy cardstock and heat-embossed it with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder. Such a cool look! Here’s a closer look:

Here are two cards I’ve previously shared with you – one showcases the church, and one showcases the Nativity. You can click on either of these images to read the original blog post for each:

The page of Night of Navy and Pacific Point waves were an unlikely (and gorgeous) addition to this snowy scene, but I added a 3″ strip of the paper behind my Christmas scene. If you didn’t KNOW this was a depiction of ocean waves, you would have seen this gorgeous pattern as a complement to the nighttime sky in the stamped image, right? Here’s a look at the colors and patterns in the Waves of Inspiration Designer Series Paper, which is in the Clearance Rack (while supplies last) for just $4.60:
