Thanks with Marigold Moments

As a part of our eighth-grade earth science curriculum, class members were required to manage a garden in the back of our school yard. We each had a small block of land to cultivate and maintain. We could each pick flowers, vegetables or plants we wanted to grow. What fun! I chose the very odd combination of marigolds (yellow and orange), green bell peppers and chives. So many marigolds! So many bell peppers. I’ve not grown marigolds since, but it wasn’t difficult for me to ad the Marigold Moments Bundle to my shopping cart. Here’s a card I made with the bundle:

Here’s a look at the Marigold Moments Bundle, which includes the Marigold Moments Photopolymer Stamp Set and coordinating Marigold Moments Dies:

The dies provide cutouts for the stamps AND flowers that can layer with just the dies. There’s also a fun border die that can be used with so many projects. The sentiments were also a selling point for me. Here’s a closer look at the flowers at the heart of this card:

I saved the “you have a heart of gold” sentiment for the inside of the card, but I didn’t grab a photo of it to share with you. It’s a beautiful sentiment.

Marigolds are gold (and some are orange or deep red), but MY marigolds are very yellow. I stamped the base of the flowers with So Saffron ink (lightly stamped off once) and the detailed flowers with Crushed Curry. I was excited by the combination of the two colors. As such, I reached for two packs of Designer Series Papers from Stampin’ Up!’s 2022 Annual Catalog that showcase these yellow tones.

The Crushed Curry panel at the back of my card is pulled from the Tea Bouquet 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper. Here’s a look at the beautiful mix of colors and images in this pack of papers:

The dots, from Stampin’ Up!’s January-April 2023 Mini Catalog are actually Mango Melody, but they nicely pick up the mix of yellow tones. Here’s a look at the Adhesive-Backed Milky Dots, which includes 50 each of Mango Melody, Night of Navy, Petal Pink and white dots:

    Good morning, Brian!
I have to say that your Marigold card and your decision to makes yours “yellow” has changed my mind about this set! The So Saffron and Crushed Curry combination reminded me of my “favorite color memory” of Marigolds growing up. The combination of these two colors really enhances the detail of this flower! Well done, Brian!
