A Note of Thanks with Wildlife Wonder

I’m reaching back to Stampin’ Up!’s 2022 Annual Catalog for a masculine (but still very beautiful) thank you card. I take that back! I designed this card with decidedly masculine products, but this card (with all its browns and greens – and brown bear) isn’t just for a man. This bear is such a sweet image that’s perfect for anyone! Here the card I made with the Wildlife Wonder stamp set and He’s the Man Specialty Designer Series Paper:

I wanted the panels on my card to be scattered and appear random – but they are all delicately and precisely placed. I’m not sure why I felt like two little staples would help with that random appearance, but I like it! I added two little staples to hold these panels together – what fun!

The bear, ground below and sentiment are pulled from the Wildlife Wonder stamp set. Here’s a look at this gorgeous, versatile stamp set:

Wildlife Wonder, Stampin Up!, 157923I paired my bear with FOUR pieces from the He’s the Man Specialty Designer Series Paper – I pulled a mix of Sahara Sand, Early Espresso and Basic Black panels from this paper to build my card. Here’s a look at the colors and patterns in the He’s the Man Specialty Designer Series Paper:

He's the Man Specialty Designer Series Paper, Stampin Up!, 159068The bear is stamped on one of the punch-outs from the front page of this paper (there are two pages of punch-out sayings and images that are perfect for a variety of cards or scrapbook pages). I  layered him over a Basic Black, Early Espresso grid. I added an argyle panel and then layered that all over one of the Sahara Sand panels. Here’s a closer look:

I love the mix of neutrals in this pack of papers, and I really love the unexpected mix of Sahara Sand, Early Espresso and Basic Black. If you love this combination as much as I do, I hope you’ll save this for future reference:

    Good morning, Brian!
I remember staples being “trendy” quite a while ago in cardmaking.
Fun to see you using them for today’s card. 😉

  2. Wild about this card! Earthy and cool!

  3. What great layering of these DSP pages. The top one with the punched holes is my favorite. Enjoy your day!

    • It’s a great little snip of paper, isn’t it?! I love the messy holes (although I’d never leave them like that on my notebook paper) and the torn edge.

  4. I love this card! Thank you for sharing. I also love the way that you showed the Sahara Sand, Early Expression and the Black , displayed in a “paint color” fashion….SO GREAT!

  5. I agree with Suzanne, Mary and Hilda. They said it all~this is subtle genius at its best. ❤️

  6. Love your layers and card!
