Cheetahs dancing ballet, turtles singing karaoke, alligators riding a bicycle. These characters are fun and cute, but I dare you to point to a person who doesn’t love a knitting llama! Stampin’ Up!’s Zany Zoo Bundle, new in the upcoming 2023 Annual Catalog features a variety of animals having human fun, but it’s the knitting llama that caught my eye and forced me to add this bundle to my pre-order. SO CUTE! Here’s a card I made with the Zany Zoo Bundle:
Here’s a look at all the character and coordinating dies in the Zany Zoo Bundle:
Adorable, right?! I stamped my knitting llama with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and added a little color to the image with my Stampin’ Blends – I colored my llama’s face with Light Natural Tones, gave her a cozy Soft Sea Foam chair and a Fresh Freesia scarf. To make her even more groovy, I gave her some Fresh Freesia eye shadow (llamas really like to coordinating with their outfits). Here’s a closer look at the character on my card:
Behind the llama, I added three 1/2″ x 4-3/4″ strips of a black-and-white pattern from the Zoo Crew Designer Series Paper. To coordinate with my llama (remember: llamas love color coordination!), I used a Blending brush to add a little Fresh Freesia to one strip and another Blending Brush to add Soft Sea Foam to another. Here’s a closer look at the fun patterns and colors in the Zoo Crew Designer Series Paper:
I love the characters on the front of each page, but I also love the black-and-white patterns on the opposite sides. The other colors in this pack of papers are Basic Black, Crumb Cake, Lemon Lime Twist, Petal Pink, Pool Party and Pumpkin Pie.
When I first colored a llama image, I chose bright colors (I was working with Pumpkin Pie and Tahitian Tide), but I really wanted a softer look for my card. I thought Soft Sea Foam and Fresh Freesia looked great together, but they were too soft. Ugh! How would I work my way out of this dilemma?! Well, I decided to play up the Basic Black accents to modernize the soft tones a bit. If you love this mix of Soft Sea Foam, Fresh Freesia and Basic Black as much as I do, I hope you’ll save this for future reference:
Which of these characters is your favorite? I can’t wait to play with the other festive animals, but I knew I needed to ink up the knitting llama first. ๐

This “llama mama” is so stylish! Freesia is the ultimate dash of creative coloring (especially the eye shadow).
Thanks, Mary! The stylish eye shadow was a last minute (but much needed) addition. ๐
Love the eye shadow ! There ae so many cute critters doing so many cute activities that it is hard to pick just one . Lots of fun DSP to play with for different projects !!!
It’s an adorable set, isn’t it?! The coordinating papers have SO MANY more fun critters. ๐ Thanks, Sonny!
I think the black/white DSP strips are the perfect addition for this adorable card. Awesome coloring, especially the eyelashes. Too cute! Enjoy your day!
Thanks so much, Hilda! ๐ I had fun with this knitting llama. Can’t wait to play with some of the other characters in the set. ๐
You enabler. Now I must get this bundle. Soooo cute!!!
It’s hard to believe you weren’t already intrigued by these cute characters. I’m happy to enable, but this set does most of that work. ๐ Thanks, Cindie!
My absolute first choice suite to get from the new catalogโand not just for the grands or my after-school group. Everything in this suite is over the top (kinda like your Mama Llamaโs color-matched eye shadow! ๐ ) How can anyone resist??
As ever, perfect color and design choices for an outstanding card.
So fun and nice colors!
Love it!! Such a fun card. Thanks for persuading me to get this set!
Groovy Fresh Freesia eye shadow because “llamas really like to coordinating with their outfit.” Love it!
