As I was working through my project earlier this week that featured a Deckled Circles sentiment, I decided to leave the collection of circles out to play with again. Today I’m sharing the fun Christmas card I made with a Deckled Circles flap and the Joy of Christmas Designer Series Paper. Here’s my card:
Wait until you see how it opens! I’ll walk you through all of the steps to build this card, but I first want to show you the products I used. ♥
The Deckled Circles dies feature 14 circles with a slightly irregular edge. The largest of the dies has a 5-3/4″ diameter, and the smallest has a 1″ diameter. Perfect for layering, building rainbows or creating a unique flap on the front of a card. 🙂 Here’s a look at the Deckled Circles Dies:
The front panel of my card is cropped with the third largest circle in the Deckled Circles Dies from a beautiful, holly-filled page of the Joy of Christmas Designer Series Paper. Here’s a look at the colors and patterns in the Joy of Christmas Designer Series Paper:
Here’s how my card opens – with plenty of room for a hand-written note or stamped sentiment inside:
Here’s how I built this card with the Deckled Circles Dies:
- Cut a Real Red card base (4-1-4″ x 5-1/2″)
- Cut a piece of Shaded Spruce cardstock (3-7/8″ x 5-1/8″) and piece of Basic White cardstock (3-3/4″ x 5″). Glue together.
- With the 3rd largest Deckled Circles Die, cut a panel of the Joy of Christmas Designer Series Paper. Score 3-3/4″ in from the right side of the circle. Burnish the score line.
- Glue the small, folded side of the circle to the back of the Shaded Spruce panel. Glue the completed panel to the Real Red card base.
- Decorate to taste.
The sentiment on my card is stamped with the Joy to You stamp set and cropped with the second largest of the Nested Essentials Dies. Pictures of each are included at the base of my post. With the Joy of Noel Dies, I cropped two pine branches from the Silver & Gold Adhesive-Backed Glimmer Paper (Online Exclusives) to add a little sparkle. I colored three Blooming Pearls with a Dark Real Red Stampin’ Write Pen and added to the pine needles.

I was singing this in my head, Mary!
Brian, love the fun opening on your lovely Christmas card! Thank you for sharing this fantastic idea!
Love the way that circle becomes the front of the card. Thank you for giving us the instructions and measurements. I pinned this so I can remembr how to do it.
Cute, cute Brian! Will use in upcoming class!
I love the fun design of this beautiful card. The gold foil pine branches are a great touch. Enjoy your day!
Love your card! Fancy you with that different take on a fancy fold! And the glimmer paper is a perfect touch!
Brian, that is truly the perfect card. Bravo!
Love every thing about your card. I might not make it the front cover but I can see using the 3/4 deckled circle as a layer
LOVE this card! I might have to case it!!
