MERRY with a Fun Pattern Play

As I was playing with the A Walk in the Forest papers earlier this week, I couldn’t help but to be drawn to the page of Cherry Cobbler and Garden Green strips – such a traditional combination of colors and a fun, festive pattern. As I started playing with the page of paper, I found a fun way to make this traditional pattern look a little more modern (and a bit eye-crossing). Here’s the fun card I made to share with you today:

Merry & Bright, A Walk in the Forest Designer Series Paper, Stampin Up!, Brian King

There are so many reasons to pick up a pack (or two) of the A Walk in the Forest Designer Series Paper, showcased on page 5 of the September-December 2023 Mini Catalog. Not only does the pack of papers coordinating with several suites in the catalog, but it’s Stampin’ Up!’s Making a Difference product in this catalog. For every pack of papers we buy, Stampin’ Up! donates $3 to “support organizations dedicated to spreading cheer and providing support to those in need.” Who doesn’t love to make a difference?!

Here’s a look at the colors and patterns in the A Walk in the Forest Designer Series Paper:

A Walk in the Forest Designer Series Paper, Stampin Up!, 162377After I created a 3-1/2″ x 5″ panel with the striped paper, making sure the trio of Cherry Cobbler lines were perfectly aligned in the center of the panel, I cropped a circle with the same pattern using the 2-3/8″ Circle Punch. When I punched the circle, I ensure the band of Garden Green stripes was at the center. How fun is that?!

I cropped a vellum cardstock circle with the Deckled Circles Dies and popped up the cropped circle over the vellum circle with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I added Stampin’ Dimensionals to the vellum and popped it up in the center of the panel. It’s such a fun play with this striped pattern, don’t you think?

The sentiment on my card, simple and to-the-point, is stamped with Versamark on Cherry Cobbler cardstock and heat-embossed with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder. I cropped the sentiment with paper snips (so easy!) and popped it up in the center of the circle, making the sentiment the focus of this card. Here’s a look at the Merry & Bright Bundle, which will retire at the end of this catalog period or when supplies run out:

Are there Christmas colors more traditional than Garden Green and Cherry Cobbler?! While this pack of papers is filled with gorgeous blues (Balmy Blue and Pretty Peacock), there are some gorgeous, traditional colors, too! If you like this mix of Basic White, Garden Green and Cherry Cobbler as much as I do, I hope you’ll save this for future reference:
